I love that he actually has a screencap of him on an ancient ship that I could use.
He would absolutely sit on the bowsprit like this to just chill. Maybe even to sleep if the deck is not viable.
I rarely use overarching comment threads because I can't pin mine, but I'll see how it goes.
But I'm pretty sure that he's acting more open on purpose while on this ship. He's well aware that there's dangerous people all around, and he doesn't know how strong they are, so he's not being too obvious with his own capabilities but acting more like a surprised passenger.
Trying to make a clip of Wu Xin while being bored on a ship....
Cause he's such a little twit with people he's friendly with.
oh man, that screencap is great. Wu Xin openly relaxing on the boat. :3
siderealtime: Isn't it? Made the plurk pretty much so I could use it because it fits so well.
But please, someone spar with him.
The ship is his playground.
That was probably not what Trevor meant and Wu Xin knows it, but come on, it can't be that bad. He's sitting down willingly to chat after vampire!Trevor tried to chomp on him.
Given.... he's choosing to sit down when Trevor can't freaking move. Lol.
I also have this feeling that Wu Xin is really annoying Heisenberg. XD
Yessss, finally someone teaching Wu Xin about modern gestures like the middle finger!
Sephchama: sure! I’d love to if you’re up for it
And yes he is absolutely annoying Heisenberg who is this close to chaining Wu Xin to a cannon and leaving him there
cannibalherpes: he won't even be going near the canon because 'weapons of mass destruction are against Buddhist teachings'. Forget cleaning it.
Fff oh yeah no he won’t like that at all
And he won't have any metal on him, so no Magneto-ing him.
Even his shoes are cloth. Maybe the communicator, but I have a feeling those things probably aren't in his control.
Heisenberg tends to, uh. Use metal he’s got with him to hurt others
Not even a knife. Or a blade.
Oh, go ahead with that! Wu Xin can dodge like Spiderman.
But he might??? Find Wu Xin funny if you don’t want him hurt?
Sweet! That’s perfect thanks
What would you like to do, it’s your boy
Maybe start bad, then eventually be impressed enough at the jumpy monk that he stops killing him and give him beans? XD
Especially if it's ketchup beans.

Not bacon beans though. He will very very sadly turn those down.
He’s literally turning up with a few cans of kidney beans and heating them over a little camping stove so that’s perfect
I think Wu Xin would enjoy that attack and stretch his legs. The video above.... Is him teasing an acquaintance until she rampages on him.
And that's just him having fun while stuck on a ship. Not even a serious fight.
Been chipping during the last hours, will start tagging soon. Probably going through all network first, then logs.
Wu Xin, smiling as he asks a friend, "What happens if both your wrists are broken?"
This monk is disturbing sometimes.
Did atop level into the mingle just because he's bored and everywhere.
... I want to say I absolutely love how much Wu Xin is probably annoying the CRAP out of Heisenberg. (It's absolutely on purpose.)
He's such an entertaining little shit.
quantumvelvet: Even more so when he's on your side (and not annoying you.)
Wu Xin really would make such an awesome pirate.
Since ironically, I just realized actually DO have an AU I'm playing with a friend where he's a pacifist space pirate.
We can leave it there for now. She's not in a good place right now, obviously, and WILL feel bad about being this testy with him later.
omnomivore: He stepped on a landmine without knowing why,
Yeah, it's not his fault and she won't hold it against him long-term
omnomivore: He doesn't hold grudges much though. Unless you killed his daddy. Then he needs a few years, or a decade, to figure out if he's still holding a grudge.
omnomivore: And here, he wasn't even really mad at her. He's just 'you're obviously not seeing things clearly or in your right mind.'
She's seeing things super clearly! She's just been trying to do less-harm pirating since she was younger than him and is extremely burnt out on and disillusioned over the whole idea.
(to clarify, she thinks she's being super reasonable here. She is absolutely compromised emotionally)
Weeeeell.... his point. IF the barge is gone.... then he literally will have nowhere else to go except to stay on the pirate ship and do less harm pirating or literally go back to his death.
And at this moment, who knows where the Barge is.
He's just taking it all in stride.
Oh yeah, I get that! Tendi just. Can't think that way right now without totally spiraling.
Yeah... though, she can go home! She has a way out.
assuming the Cap'n actually lets anyone go.
Yes.... there is that too. No one knows what he even wants with them.
Tendi's going with them being bait for the Barge, so that the Cap'n can attack and strip the Barge when it shows up to reclaim them. Which might've actually been a productive conversation if she'd been together enough to explain that whoops.
Otherwise what's the benefit to picking up a crapton of mouths to feed when you're already tight on supplies, especially when so many of them are incredibly uncooperative.
That's a very good guess that Wu Xin would probably agree with.
If, you know, she explained. XD Though it wouldn't change much their current situation.
Also supports her "we have to assume the Barge is still out there coming for us" theory, which is very convenient for her mental stability right now.
I have no idea what he's been able to observe, but he would have been observing all this time he's being friendly with the others.
He's not tactical, but he's got keen senses. The whole martial artist thing pretty much makes them very sharp. So he might be able to provide information to her about anything that's not technical since he's been all over the place and being obviously friendly instead of wearing those "you killed my family" glares.
They should probably talk again after the cannon sabotage mission goes down
Yeah, going to say he's not around at that time, or the impulsive little shit would have thrown himself right in.
Group plots always wind up so fucking massive and unwieldy it's hard to get everyone in who logically should be involved.
I'm going to try to arrange it so with the engine sabotage plot there's some mingle options that might make it easier for more people to jump in, but I haven't quite worked it out yet.
Not sure it's possible.... It feels like you're going to need to direct Infinity Stones and figure out how to fit all the super heroes to have a role in fighting Thanos.
Cause that's pretty much what this looks like, a BUNCH of superheroes everywhere. And everyone wants a role.
Yeah, not like. EVERYONE everyone. More like there's going to be a few different groups and I won't have to have Tendi engaging directly with all of them
Yeah, I'm wary of huge big plotty things because they're going to be hard as heck to coordinate and toes easily get stepped on.
I've been juggling with the idea of bringing in a new character who's the super masterminding type, and honestly that's one of the big drawbacks that makes me wary of bringing him in. He'll likely very quickly work to take point and.... I don't wanna. Lol.
Yeah I feel you there lol
Captcha CheckGotta put this here. In case
anyone wants to correct that hot or not thread.
Okay, what? Weird that it's not letting me link.
Cause any Bargezian were liable to have seen this cause Wu Xin has been dipping in the Garden pond all the time.
So someone could have snapped a picture or something.
He's young enough to probably ping as A Kid to a lot of Bargizens too, tbh.
There's a surprising number of 30+ characters.
quantumvelvet He IS a kid. Pretty sure he's top 3 youngest on that ship. Lol.
(I would almost say top 1, but I hesitate to claim.)
I think we have a 16-year-old kicking around still.
Yeah, I'm not quite sure... but definitely top 3. He had his 18th birthday on the Barge and told a few people his age.
Characters Walter, who is fuckin 40, thinks of as baby:
Wu Xin
Annie
Nana
Taylor
Cater & Idia (doesn't know them well)
Yeah that's it
Ulla is actually not really out of this age range but she's otherworldly
Oh yeah, Nana! She's young too. Taylor isn't that young.... Not sure Annie's age.
ancillaries: Walter, 40.... Okay, 40 is quite old considering he's only an adolescent. But that only means Wu Xin is allowed to brat around him.
And I gave in. Wu Xin is likely getting a scratch debate with Clint about his own picture. It's not even about his uselessness. It's only about his age. XD
Hey, if he's having a stupid edit war with Clint, he's not annoying Dime Store Magneto, so it's a win-win.
quantumvelvet I imagine these edits happen over time. Like he walks past, edit. Leaves. Comes back around some time later, goes.
No one has time to camp the board.
So he has no idea who's actually doing it, but he doesn't care. (And don't ask me where's the pen from. Assuming there's one there.)
There's probably a whole crate of random office supplies from some supremely bureaucratic barge kicking around somewhere.
clearly someone needs to go wild with labelmaker
quantumvelvet: He's not caught up on modern conveniences, sadly. A marker is about as good as it gets.
I didn't mean him, necessarily. Just, in the midst of all the territorial snarling, someone goes full office gremlin.
...... Or drawing on the walls.
Heisenberg continues to be annoyed. I'm surprised he hasn't taken a swing yet.
cannibalherpes: question on how strong is that magnetic force. If a person stood on it, for example, would they be able to keep it pinned? What about if a super soldier, like Captain America's strength, stood on it? Just getting an idea the strength he's up against.
I don't think so because he'd probably just direct it in a new way? Like you can push against it (as much as you can push against a nail) but he'd probably just bring it around to another side
Though I'm not 100% sure about 'strength levels', really. What's Wu Xin trying to do?
Oh, no, I was just thinking.
Would be be able to catch those projectiles or hold them?
I think Wu Xin's level of strength is pretty much a super soldier's level.
Oooh. Maybe?? But I think Heisenberg would probably throw more shit his way in response
Or club him with his hammer
Trouble is that we don't get to really see what he could do against someone with non-human strength so it's aggravating
Yeah... Mixed fandom challenges. I'll start with catching them, then play it by the ear and discuss things in OOC if anything.
How many in this first volley?
Probably one or two of these bad boys;
He escalates like all good mid-level bosses do
Wu Xin now wonders if they were stolen from coffins.
Well, you see, there was that one ship that was entirely vampires...
What happened to the vampires? O.O
This is going to be such a bad idea.
cannibalherpes: Oh, just realized that if Heisenberg lets Wu Xin start, he's going to start right off with a mesmerizing skill, or one that draws out the memories of his inner demons. Might not want to let Wu Xin start if we want to keep this physical.
Fff oh shit. That’s terrifying and cool as hell
cannibalherpes: yeah... If you want to change your post to add an attack, then Wu Xin will keep it physical and let Heisenberg lead for a bit. But otherwise, his opening move is to go right into traumatizing people.
cannibalherpes: well... Unless Heisenberg has some mental resistance or make no eye contact, otherwise one look will draw him into a reliving moment of his worst memories or inner demons, which usually means they're kinda helpless for a few seconds.
The fight would be over before it begins cause Wu Xin can just go up there and literally poke him with a finger and draw first blood. XD
Honestly that might be pretty funny and he would likely be “oh okay we are friends”
“Lemme share my dark thoughts because nobody in the village was a therapist and I have mommy issues”
cannibalherpes: yeah... One look and people are usually paralyzed or screaming, and some even faints. I'm sure he'll... Tone it down a little? Maybe? It's not like Heisenberg was trying to kill him or anything, just maim his hand with rusty nails and probably likely give him tinnitus. >.>
Totally, yeah. There’s some horrible stuff in Resident Evil but he kinda? Knows and accepts the worst of it and has channeled that into revenge against his creator so mostly he’s gonna be like. Impressed
cannibalherpes: well, want to go that route then? If so, Wu Xin will go with the inner demon route then.
Okay... finally feeling a bit better after two nights of cold/bad allergies/mild covid, what have you. Hoping to clear tags then do a few tag outs tonight.
TDL -
People I want to tag into...
Collins
Sweeney
Tendi
B...
Then scroll the comms for new entries.
And Walter too, missed that in the list. In no set order.
Okay, inbox cleared! Now for the tag outs.... might prioritize the ones I don't have a number of ongoing threads with first.
Okay... just noticed a few more need to tag into on the mingle....
Lol, Wu Xin really is politely rude sometimes.
It's just because he doesn't know him
Sweeney: /is literally braiding Justine's hair at the moment
floofdoodle: Awwww. Yeah, he doesn't know that side of him at all.
Not that he could appreciate that even if he does. /has no hair
He can't appreciate the beauty in things he doesn't experience for himself?
floofdoodle: Can't
personally appreciate it. But he can appreciate that Sweeney's capable of it. If he knows of it.
Maybe more observation is required. It happens
I don't think they've had a lot of interaction outside of the kitchen... though there is the greenhouse. Should probably decide what sort of handwaved interaction they would have there.
I mean, he's in there a lot. So it kind of depends on how that goes down (and if he tries to sit on his grass)
floofdoodle: Maybe the first time in the sense that "oh, nice piece of grass that looks comfortable." But no more than just a pretty piece of grass might atttract. If he knows it belongs to someone, he won't do it again.
If he saw him there and was informed that was his, then he won't have in the first place.
Unlike Xiaoge who ignores people and is off in his own world half the time.
Yeah, Sweeney still snaps at people, but unless he's in a dark place post-event, it's more of a stern 'get the fuck off my grass' and not snarling or seeking actual violence
And he chills out the moment they're not on it
He's generally willing to talk while he's in there. Unless he's obviously binge-drinking
floofdoodle: Then likely they would have just chatted a bit. And Wu Xin might even ask if his grass needs watering. Lol.
That's a hard pass. Stay the fuck off the grass. That includes any sort of wonky magic shit
floofdoodle: He meant
actual water. Since he works in the greenhouse and waters the plants.
Yeah. And stay off the grass.
But no means less work for him, so he's okay with it either way.
But he doesn't understand why does one need to be on the grass to water it?
Sweeney just knows about loopholes and shit, so he tries to cover his bases
Just leave it the fuck alone. Sweeney isn't going to go into the 'but I can do it from the path'
He'll get more bristly the more questions/counters he gets about it
After one kindly offer, then one explanation, if Sweeney's upset, Wu Xin will shrug and let it go. He was just being kind to the guy who's giving him sweets.
Sweeney get it, truly. And he's glad that Wu Xin is working the greenhouse and tending the other plants. He supports that, and helps do it as well. And harvests and brings new seeds and saplings from the various ports.
He just has few things that are his and he's very defensive of them
Wu Xin both gets that and doesn't get it. He understands that on a theoretical level and won't question or overstep it, but he's never had anything he could be that defensive about.
Well, Sweeney's also not a monk. So there seems like there would be a paradigm shift there
Yes, but Wu Xin.... Isn't really a monk either. Lol.
But all purposes he considers himself mostly one.
Does he to the whole 'collecting earthly goods' thing?
floofdoodle: probably not. He doesn't
have anything to collect.
It's not so much that being a monk doesn't allow him to, but he doesn't have anything he could collect even if he isn't in a monastic environment.
cannibalherpes: Is he frozen enough while sorting through his memories that Wu Xin can close in?
