with how they're forecasting showers on thursday it's even I guess theoretically possible it could snow thursday night, but I expect the cold will come in as the clouds move out
Gemini
oh yeah, it's the clear skies that'll bring the cold. like why we didn't have a freeze last nigh
Gemini

we actually had a couple of very mild frosts around the end of september but really it didn't hit any lower than like 31 so I still have peppers and zucchinis going

I love this early fall period when everyone growing peppers has too many and I can grab handfuls of free jalapenos on my walking route
Gemini

my thai chiles are as hot as I need to go and even only 1-2 of those diced up is enough for most dishes
Gemini

it was a wet hot summer, I think most people around here were not expecting jumbo crops of hot peppers
Gemini

Lauren

How do you winterise a rain barrel?
Gemini
drain all the remaining water (which was a lot thanks to heavy rains, I hardly used it until Sept), then remove the hose that connects it to the downspout and put a plug in
Gemini
it basically is to keep water from freezing in the barrel and possibly damaging the base or the spigots
WereCorgi

BTW, the chill is due to a jet stream wiggle. I checked.
Gemini

yep. bout time too, but now we're in the up and down wobbles, big areas of pressure instead of weak ones just sitting around
