Donnie has been working on a dimensional gate; he's been using research/details from his previous game CR (mostly rodney, stargate), the future donnie notes he got from Casey and his mask (some given by casey, some files he straight up lifted without asking when he helped casey with his mask), and his own research that is currently ongoing
at some point in the upcoming months, no earlier than late december but probs in jan, don is going to put up an anon post with some questions that will, depending on player sign ups, result in a rash of disappearances/kidnappings
ooc posts/sign ups will go up before that
the gate is obv not going to work since he's trying to brute force a magic/lore thing with science, but the effects haven't been finalized yet
cast will probably notice donnie prepping to build something big in the staging area of his lab, but it'll be closed off soon (date TBD)

without having the role stuff immediately handy, basically donnie arrived already a lil fucked up bc of the entity shit from ADI. he always wanted to build a gate, but with tony and ESPECIALLY mikey's disappearances, he's leaning into the obsession characteristic of myths
largely driven by fear
pretty soon his myth traits will be more obvious and permanent even if he isn't actively using his ninpo, but he's using it a ton lately anyway so who can tell
this is probably not gonna become super obvious for another month, so I'll try to do updates and tag folks since we are busy ppl
once mods (and me) figure out how the failed gate attempt will affect folkmore, I'll get the explanation post summarized and up for reading
right now cast probably knows donnie has been more withdrawn and colder/less happy!exciteable than he usually is. "I'm busy" is very common when asked to do things, hang out, etc
he doesn't often come back to the apartment for long
he doesn't ramble on about his work
he almost certainly comes off as one of those "you wouldn't understand so i won't waste our time" assholes
significant time away from his lab (meals, hangouts, etc) will be a little strained since he won't be engaged and will constantly be on his wrist comp or relic
leo will continue getting nothing but slightly foreboding emptiness from the familiar bond
