I kinda like the changes so far. It's weird to hear a different VA for some of the characters, for others they really fit

I'm glad the Chinese characters aren't speaking in broken English anymore. The occasional grammatical error to get across that they might not be super familiar with the dub language is fine, but it sounds so much better now

Kuno sounds weird to me, but that's probably because I'm weird and still miss the old english VA for Kuno. But the crew all does good work! It doesn't sound stilted or forced or dry, which makes sense because there are a lot of pro VAs here

also nice to hear Akane being mad because Ranma is a dumbass who can't check if the bath is empty beforehand (but Akane kinda hypocritical because you did the exact same thing to him...)

... might not be used to it but the VA for Kuno is an excellent choice

I know that Ranma needs character development but oh god the foot in mouth syndrome he has

like he's straight-up provoking Akane most of the time whether he's aware of it or not

I feel like they changed how the skating match went somewhat, but honestly I'm not against the change

yeah I don't remember there explicitly being a winner, I just remember it going to shit once the ice broke

yeah they're extending it with slapstick and I'm actually not complaining considering the series has been at a breakneck pace so far

overall I like the reboot, the faster pace is nice and the changes made aren't bad. Still wish girl ranma had black hair like in the manga but eh the pink doesn't loook bad. though the eye colour changing too kinda lends credence to people not necessarily recognizing that it's the same person right away. I am looking forward to later arcs, here's hoping

that the new series reaches said arcs

also the anime does a ton of cute little tonal changes to help make it stand out from its predecessor, which is nice

I am... really curious about how they're going to handle Happosai. Because he is the single most problematic character in the series even with its other issues

like without a doubt he'll get toned down but the question is how. I like how they handled the Chinese characters in the new series but this is a different beast

so far it's mostly been true to the source material though so I'm optimistic with how they'll handle it

they might change him in other ways for all I know. Maybe emphasizing his other terrible traits instead of only his perversion (he's lazy, manipulative, ridiculously spoiled, entitled, somewhat narcissistic... There's a lot to work with, really thinking about it.

MooseChangerPat New series is good so far, admittedly the sliiiiiight censorship is a bit weird but I think that's more a trait of modern anime than it is any fault of the series. It's too soon to say how they'll handle certain things like Happosai but I'm optimistic so far. I'm also pinging because I am now remembering the shenanigans that we were up

to all that time ago lol
