Katarr was her home planet. Very past tense. A Sith Lord whose primary power is being an interstellar Hoover showed up one day because 1. her people are inherently Force-sensitive and 2. a bunch of Jedi went there to figure out what was killing all the Jedi

Paine is crimsonsphere and I was shocked it was not already in use. The Crimson Spheres are the recordings she made of the Crimson Squad of the Crusaders, which was going on at the same time as Operation Mi'hen in FFX

Obtaining them all is optional but it is the subplot that explains her past and is therefore super important to the main plot

Julie is krtaps, which is short for "keratin-associated proteins," which are the things that make hair

And Kera (her living disembodied hair) is herself named after keratin
