why white? because the black one has a digital readout and that costs extra for a feature i don't care about lol
Also jeez I hadn't realized it was that chonky
Nice!

The chonky fan blocks the RGB from .. is that your CPU?
At least you didn't have RGB in that chonky fan.
the white cooler makes it stand out in your all-black (minus the neon light thingy) setup~
I didn't want LEDs when I had them build it a couple years ago but it was all they had </3
Also, nice reminder for me to clean my PC tower. Who knows what kind of dust civilization has been going on in there (not that it's that old, it was recently cleaned last year when we installed a new graphics card).
hold on there's a button on top of this thing i should see if there's an off option
okay yeah I held it down and it turned off. Shame the RAM sticks have their own LEDs and I don't care to see what software corsair has to control it
chaosghost: YAY! A kindred soul! I thought I'm the only one who doesn't appreciate RGB in my computer stuff. (except for the backlight on keyboards, for
working in the dark).
Apparently the dirtiest part in my PC was the PSU at the bottom since it was in its own enclosure and I didn't dare open it up. I had a compressed air can that I used to blow on the fans every now and then
ukifuneritsu: the only reason I'd be wary of white-colored PC stuff (especially if it goes inside the PC tower) is how it'd look after a year. unless sobrang climate-controlled and dust-free yung kwarto mo, it'd accumulate dust like hell.
chaosghost: huh, nice! good idea not to open the PSU enclosure. and I only recently found out that it's not a good idea to bring out the walis tambo for PC cleaning

I'm not a smoker and our cats live outside so no fluff and dander aside from my own dandruff
faramond: white tower = looks dusty over time but it's hard to see the dust
black tower = looks dusty over time but you can see it waaay too early. xD
Oi~ i'm a smoker and when we first opened up my PC (bought circa August 2021, opened up March 2024), it's relatively clean. There's some dust buildup, but it wasn't as bad as I thought.
I don't smoke here in my room, and do it outdoors tho. there's a construction area nearby and I think that's the cause of the dust? i keep the windows closed most of the time tho
ukifuneritsu: so, gray it is.

match the color of the dust so that even if there's buildup, it doesn't look bad.
can I just say it's weird not to hear fans spinning next to me
the stock intel cooler whines a lot cuz it's overworked lol
chaosghost:

you can get a stan fan if you really miss the sound of spinning fans.
But yeah, good call on the new fan.
I'm hoping this means I won't crash anymore. I've been having issues of hard crashing recently when I play certain games and I've been thinking it's cuz of CPU overheat. The techie did say the thermal paste was fucked when he removed the cooler
Oh??! When did you last replace that thermal paste?
What do you mean "replace"?
I remember hearing that thermal paste needs to be replaced periodically. And I am afraid I'm also due to replace my thermal paste (CPU to fan) soon.
hence why I had it sent for a service, I was like "wait isn't this something you should re-apply" and I haven't since I bought the damn thing
it's cute that DeepCool has its own thermal paste injector.
Oh~ good call~! There's people who do that on their own (replacing the thermal paste), but I assume those people know what they're doing.
The steps seem to be easy enough though, and nowadays thermal paste isn't so finicky that having it splatter won't break your PC. But still...
... I'd probably need help when it's time for me to do that.
in other news, I set up an appointment for 8am, the shop opened up 8:40, and at first I was a little annoyed for making me wait but it turns out it was worth it because holy shit I went out for breakfast while waiting and when I returned a couple hours later their small shop has like 8 CPUs after mine to repair. Yay for being an early bird
people just kept coming in with no appointment asking for a repair that the dudes were turning them away if they weren't willing to leave it overnight
(are they the only computer shop in Silang? lmao)
it's a convenient place too, it's on the nasugbu highway, just a little ways away from Tagaytay Fora, the mall next to the rotunda
Given the stereotypes I know of Tagaytay:
- There's a lot of gaming PC's in there
- People can afford to have a technician to go to their place and do the necessary upgrades/repairs/maintenance.
So, possibly it's the only good computer shop in Silang/Tagaytay area?
Tho I thought you went all the way to Gilmore for that.
Dude the shop has a service where they go to your home and clean your computer there
and they take pictures of their work for their facebook page (with permission, they took mine earlier lol) and one of the houses is a goddamn mansion
Facebookit's hilarious that the pc itself looked underwhelming (but I wonder what's inside it)

Oh look it's me from a couple years ago

not sure if really large toaster or actual CPU.
Darkflash because it burns your toast very quickly D:
Yikes! Toaster rather than a space heater?
That looks off but it gets the job done
