For the... I literally cannot count.
He's never had a job longer than two years. This one lasted a year and a half.
He was working as a sidewalk surveyor for a city of about 40,000.
Right before my parents showed up for Christmas they got a call from Heather.
To explain why he wouldn't be leaving for work any time they were visiting.
And what they were told is
Someone came into his place of work and said that he did / said something to that person, while on the job. Rodrigo denies doing/saying anything.
And obviously he's as innocent as the day is long, longsuffering and never at fault for anything, so my sister believes him or at least says she does. (Reader: I do not believe him.)
The reason why I do not believe him? He was forced to resign.
He was given the option of resigning, and was told that in six months he could reapply to his old job OR he could be fired. He chose the first option.
But because he wasn't fired, he cannot draw unemployment.
And because he's incompetent, he didn't file for COBRA to prevent losing his healthcare.
So now, my sister, niece, and Rodrigo have no healthcare.
My sister is working two part-time jobs to try and fill the gap. But neither has benefits.
He! Is! Looking! For! Work! But! Hasn't! Found! Anything! Yet!
My reaction: Chick-fil-A is probably hiring. He could get some sort of job.
I'm now picturing Rodrigo as Cousin Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Heather just going "He's holding out for a management position."
He won't get a job that he sees as beneath him.
But if he had a job in food service he'd have to interact with other people and then.
He'd Say or Do Something (see above) and lose that job.
"Merry Christmas! Shitter was full!" - Rodrigo, probably
So, then, my parents spent a lot of time with him at Christmas?
I'm told he was sick almost the whole time they were there, and he spent almost all day in his bedroom.
I'm not sure if I believe this.
Because he has a habit of hiding whenever family members are around. Legit, if I go to a place where he is, he'll always be in another room, somehow.
He MISSED HIS DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
He had BETTER HAVE BEEN SICK.
What a classy fucking gentleman
Like, my mom and dad were there. My DAD got to be the father figure at the party.
I'm just. So tired. Of his inability to learn and grow as a person.
Rodrigo and the Everlasting Narc Journey
He's the gift that keeps on giving.
If only someone had kept the receipt
honestly I'm surprised to hear he hides away from the family. I'd have thought he'd love telling everyone all about his suffering and injustices and how right he is about everything.
He is, truly, a coward at heart.
