Just finished watching the movie Eastern Promises starring Viggo Mortenson and Naomi Watts. It’s from 2007 and based on a true story. I recommend it. It was very, very good but I caution you that it does get graphically violent. Quite disturbing too, really. I need to watch some sitcoms now or cartoons so I can go lay down for a bit, or I’ll get nightmares.
I’m not very good when there’s a lot of slicing and dicing and blood and stuff. I have to cover my eyes. LOL But I love a good maffia movie and this was definitely that.

Yeah, that's probably the most mainstream movie David Cronenberg's ever made. It's brutal...might be worth a rewatch. Isn't William Hurt that baddie in that one?
Unfortunately, for me, the 'slicing and dicing' is a dealbreaker. My brain makes it too real, and it lingers. And shows up in moods and nightmares later. Wish I wasn't like this.

Gah! I was thinking of a completely different movie! I was getting it mixed up with "A History of Violence", which also has Viggo in it, and was also directed by Cronenberg.
Well, the full frontal was in a pretty disturbing scene, so not sure I'd waggle my eyebrows at it. But I will say I appreciated that it wasn't really gratuitous.
My father watched that just now, and I wasnt paying attention because I was playing on my phone. Might not watch, I can handle violence, but prefer not to.
