10... I think Ethlyn idolizes people to whom being graceful and patient comes to naturally. For her it's an effort and one she had to learn fast, and sometimes it chafes, so she's always impressed by people who look like they don't even have to try (BUT THAT'S ALWAYS THE TRICK ISN'T IT)

20. Misconceptions about Ethlyn's personality... HONESTLY. I don't see people talk about Ethlyn a lot in general lmfao.

From an IC perspective that I find quite amusing, though, it's that people think Ethlyn is the sensible one. Understandable when you see some of the competition but. SHE'S... NOT lmao

this means she can find something to dislike about herself every day of the week :')

"I did not react with perfect composure and grace when my husband was badly wounded in front of me"

"I delayed on giving my husband his heirloom weapon because there's a really sad legend attached to it and we're in medieval times so curses are a thing"

basically any time she lets her emotions get the better of her in a way that serves herself rather than others

Now what she really shouldn't have done is taken Altena with her to Aed, because even if the plan was to turn around and go home with her, there's still a war on and your toddler is safer in a castle than on horseback riding through the land

Probably a thing she'll never forgive herself for, because it was only by her killer's purpose that her daughter didn't also die

What she likes: she IS very proud of herself for her initiative and recognizing things that need to be done and then doing them, like getting her father and brother to act like respectable members of society again after Lady Chalphy passed away

Not to mention catching up about 500 years in medical knowledge so that she can be a better healer for people, and also trusted as a healer. Cause she's pretty sure if she started nattering on about miasma and humors, people would uhhh. Not respect her as a medical professional LOL

19. What others admire about Ethlyn... Even tho she finds fault in her own patience in dealing with people, it's something other characters respond well to. That and the fact that she does very genuinely care about the welfare of her friends and also the community

SHE'S VERY GOOD AT LOOKING LEVELHEADED

shomonkai Ethlyn sees her job to be the person others look to in severe stress. So she's got at shutting down her panic instincts to look at what needs doing that she specifically can do.

But under chronic stress conditions (like say a DWRP game) that doesn't always work very well. She did that in Expi for a long time, holding everything in to herself to not burden others with it so she could be the reliable helping person, and then she went to the same type of place that she died in and it kinda broke down :')

SHE DID LEARN from then that it is a good and reasonable thing to share her troubles with other people before they overwhelm her. Sometimes it takes a while for her to remember that because [gestures at above stuff about Only Daughter Life] but she's still better than she was!!

9... WELL. definitely stuffing all of her own problems down like they don't exist. It's taken people explicitly telling her DO NOT DO THIS WITH ME for her to actually open up and share her fears and trauma and other negative feelings

I also call her the self-appointed mom friend in a way that is not entirely positive. That's why when she didn't know she was a mom in AU Memories, she became the busybody instead... because her instincts were telling her to be up in everybody's business, but without the maternal feeling towards it

11. The thing that make her feel the most guilt is 500% bringing Altena with her instead of leaving her home as planned because Altena was throwing a tantrum about Not Going With Mommy :')
