5, 6, 7 for the sin of the hour
30: What could make your character cry? I DON'T THINK Greed has actually cried once in his life but you fucking howdy did he get close once
It would take a whole fucking lot. And one of his dying? That's up there on the list. And if he had to be the one to do it or if he did it by accident? THAT would be the thing to set him off
I don't know if he'd cry but it definitely would send him into a bit of a panic. Depending on the situation, he might be full on trembling after or just doing that cold, still, and unnerving thing he does
SLAPS a spoiler on this jam just in case
I mean, that's pretty close
you are a monster for making me relive that scene
I WISH I COULD SAY I'M SORRY BUT that'd be a fucking lie
5: What calms your character down the best under severe stress? THIS IS AN EXCELLENT QUESTION usually if he's stressed out, he's usually fucked off somewhere solo. Probably with a glass of scotch, some smokes, and (depending on the situation) maybe some company just to take his mind off shit
Some untangled, no obligation fucking just so he can clear his head. Or he's bristling in a backroom, staring at a wall as he's kicked back on a couch. And he'd probably lose track of time, staring at it for hours. But he'd eventually try to shrug it off
Now if we're talking about the point where he's absolutely fucked stress wise? Scratching or running fingers through his hair is a good solid way to calm his ass down
Just ground his ass. Bring him back to the present so he doesn't go tearing through everything to get what he's due
6: Does your character have an unrealistic view of some area of their life or worldview? AHAHAHAHA OK LET'S BE REAL HERE his entire view of everything is skewed
His sense of morals always tilt to his given sin. AND IF I COULD FIND IT AGAIN I'd bring it up but
He sees everything in a shade of gray if that makes any fucking sense at all. He'll always still stick by his rules, but his whole world view is that there's nothing stopping him or anyone else from getting what they want
He's sees almost everything he does as something he wants, even if it is more than that. To him, it all boils down to his avarice, to his desire, but a small part of him knows it's sometimes beyond that
7: What does your character hate and like about themselves? Greed is an egotistical bastard so there isn't much he doesn't like about himself. He's proud about what he is, who he is
That said, AND I'VE SAID IT BEFORE, but he really fucking hates how he looks with his 'Shield up. He'll do it but if someone he knows is around? He'll try to avoid it as much as possible
But more seriously, there's a tiny piece of him that gets frustrated when he doesn't understand something. When he can't grasp something everyone else seems to get
And it's never for something material but the best example I can think of is that he still can't fully wrap his mind around the concept of love. Like he can feel it, but he has no idea what the fuck it is
So he's just left patting his foot, tapping his finger, and pacing about it
2: Does your character adapt easily to changes in life or do they have a hard time getting accustomed? IT REALLY depends on the situation. Greed can usually adapt to most things but keeping up with trends? Changes in technology? HE IS ALWAYS at least a decade or two behind
He struggles with things like that that are new even if he's interested about them. Listen, the man's from a time where rotary phones are still probably relatively new
Give him a cellphone and he fucking STRUGGLES
3: Does your character struggle with any type of addictions? GREAT QUESTION so this is me just head canoning again here, but homunculi tend to burn off most things that would traditionally cause addiction. Just because with them? Their stone would burn it off
Greed is addicted to his avarice, and he's at the fucking mercy of it./
It's like a fever. Sure, he can keep it calm. Sure, he can be slick most of the time. But it's always just there, under the skin
It's always pounding his head, always yelling, always wanting more
And he never denies himself more. He never will deny himself more. So I DON'T THINK he's good at it, not really.
And he gets addicted to people. Having people, being with people, being around people, specific people sometimes.
Like he'll never push it, but any one who has ever been his? He has them memorized. Their ticks, their tells, the subtle things they never say. Because he wants them. And wanting them means he picks up on all the little things that could easily be missed over time
But material things drive him wild. Money, wealth, power. He's a creature that'll BURN BABY BURN for what he wants
11: What makes your character feel most guilt in their life? Oh man
There's two. The first, is the fact that he killed Bido and never got the chance, and will never get the chance, to say he's sorry.
That he remembered him, that he was important because I don't think anyone's told the little lizard that in his life
And we never get to see what happens, but
AND APOLOGIES ALL 'ROUND FOR THE RANT
But part of me thinks he made sure to carry his body out of that sewer. Even if he had to go back down there after kicking down Wrath's door
And he'd have to have buried him somewhere that wasn't Dublith. Somewhere off the beaten path as he fled Central, and that? That stings
Just a poorly marked grave for one of his, one of his he'll never see again. AND BOY HOWDY does he feel guilt over that
The other is lying to Ling's face.
Just that betrayal, going against his own morals. He had to, he had no fucking choice, but he'd carry that with him.
Especially given how much Ling pleaded with him to stay, to not go, yelling at him that he never lies and he just had to laugh in his face. What the fuck else was he supposed to do?
Would he do it again to make sure the brat was all right? Absolutely
But if he had a chance, just one, say let him know he was sorry, he would. And don't get the wrong idea here, Greed's apologies aren't just I'm sorry or something like that.
It's more .. resigned, half-cocked grin. "It was one or both of us, kid. Couldn't let that happen."
26: Does your character live in self-denial about anything? AHAHAHAHAHA
Jesus fucking christ yeah and it's so fucking simple too: he cares about people
He cares a whole lot about people
Cares about what they get in life, what they should have out of life, what they deserve, how they should be treated, how they should always have self worth
Love, again, is not a concept he fully grasps. But he loves his own, even if he denies it time and time again.
Always using "Just my avarice" as an excuse
Also because if I have to suffer, I'm bringing you all down with me
Descentthe tune that just makes me think of it Greed could ever actually say goodbye to Ling. Like if he were standing over him at the end of it all like a ghost or a whisper of him just like
"Knew you could do it, kid."
also I found this again and CHEF'S KISS
bringing the pain train in the fucking wee morning hours
Ok AS A WAY TO MAKE UP FOR THE TRAGEDY this jam just came on as I was moping the floors and
Silver Screen
Holy shit, that is so good man
What fucking got me was the line about Why do you still think that I'm charming? And using a window instead of a door
Song coming for my fucking throat
