So someone made a DnD esque challenge
Each generation is a DnD class and you have to achieve specific goals kinda relevant to that class for each generation
There's some quirks to it. Every Thursday in-game you roll a d20 for a smaller scale Wild Magic where you might get simoleons or have a toilet for a head depending on the roll
So I am trying not to read ahead for the challenge AND I AM NOW LIVING IN REGRET OF THAT DECISION
So I am on Gen 2, gen 2 is a cute little toddler
And I noticed that the toddler has a mark on their neck that's like a tattoo
So my Gen 1 Sim, the BARD did not marry and woohoo'd a guy she knew from highschool, hence toddler
So just put away that tidbit for a whole sec
Gen 2 is a Warlock, and one of the goals is to do the Reaper career, okay no problem ez
Woohoo the Grim Reaper and get a child out of it (which will be gen 3)
So I'm like. Hang on a minute
So I look up the little tattoo on the toddler's neck because BOY THAT LOOKS STRANGE IS THAT A SCYTHE maybe it's a bug
Turns out the toddler has the Grim Descendent trait
So I temporarily add the father to my household to look up his traits
AND HE'S FUCKING GRIMBORN
Which means, his dad is the Grim Reaper
So the Grim Reaper is the toddler's Grandfather
And her LITERAL GOAL IN LIFE IS to romance..................... the Grim Reaper
Send help, I am discomfort.
So because Grim is not a genuine townie like, say, the toddler's dad. The game doesn't actually count him as the grandfather
But eeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh I still disagree with this
Lol so my tactic is to message the challenge creator to say SO I DID AN OOPS, what's your opinion
I think she'll laugh at my predicament
Apparently once you have a Grimborn Sim, all following children are considered Grim Descendents
Spoiler alert: the trait simply adds 7 days to your Sim's lifespan. It's nothing fancy
But for that to be for all descendants feels kinda big depending on what lifespan you are playing on, it doesn't scale whether it's long or short
that's hilarious in its own way
...personally i would rank the grim reaper as a sort of god, were i to do this challenge, and the gods are notorious for sleeping with their relations SO
but it's up to you lmao, i definitely understand feeling uncomfortable about it all
one of these days i really do need to bite the bullet and get Sims 4 so i can start doing some challenges
isn't there more than one Grim?
i swear when i watched Simsie doing the career, there were at least two Grims at once wandering around the career building
cause she was flirting with them both lol
There is only one Grim at a time, if you were to cheat your way into adding Grim to your household, he'll lose the is_grimreaper trait and another one will spawn
But he might still look like the reaper, he just doesn't do any reaping
You can tell if a Grim is the same one because the relationship meter will reset if it's a new one
So I'm not sure how there were multiple unless it was just the other employees maybe? Cause they're all dressed in the same robe for the career
Unless the game bugged, which is completely feasible tbh
I'm still not sure what I'm planning to do about this. I might like, replace my current grim reaper and then I'll feel better about it lol
unsure, i'd have to try and find the video again, but as i recall, she was flirting with one in the career headquarters, it left, then it reappeared... but that one didn't have any relationship bar
so it appeared to be a new grim
but maybe it was a fake grim? no idea how grim works behind the scenes
and she left the lot to do some reaping and came back the relationship was gone
she said she knew a lot of grims and that it's a new one on reload, whatever that means
LMAO okay I see what's happening
When you load in a saved game, job positions can shift. Like if you have a recurring nanny, butler, maid. You'll have the same one for the duration of playing that day, but as soon as you save, quit, then load to play again those positions can be replaced with new townies
So I'm guessing that's what keeps happening to Simsie and her Grims
It's more likely to happen when you gain relationship with that townie too, so the more you know them, the less they are likely to return to their job post, whatever it is
For story telling reasons, we'll just say her grandpa retired lmao
It's a bug that's existed since the game's release. Just didn't expect it to work in my favor in this instance lol
