[perfume][suffering] Even though I am fairly committed to smelling like vanilla cupcakes, I decided to try some Classic Fragrances by way of samples, will post results as I try them
Shalimar - okay stop laughing
I wanted to try Classics and you can't not do a sniff test of shalimar if you're doing that
Shalimar by Guerlain came out in 1925, top notes of Bergamot, heart notes of Iris, Jasmine, and Rose, and base notes of Vanilla and Tonka Beans
Sniff test says: that smells a lot like petroleum jelly
(mineral spirits)
to clarify I have already tested this and I am writing in post
Skin test says oh god oh god why why no get it off all I can smell is oil and some kind of suffering
after dousing skin in lemon juice, washing with dawn soap, dousing in rubbing alcohol and washing again, smells like vaguely sweet mineral spirits: pretty nice
Verdict: No
