So yesterday, not last night but the night before
Katie wanted to go to the ER at about...... midnight
There were an array of reasons, edema being really bad, she was worried she was having a blood clot and she felt something was very wrong
She was having whole body pain. USUALLY she just has pain from the like waist down but this was apparently her whole spine
She has a pain pump for her lower body but it has zero effect on her upper body so she's just suffering
They did a CAT scan and found nothing
And I am angry but we knew they would do the bare minimum
Basically, because she has a pain pump and it is pumping very very hard drugs into her on a regular basis they essentially refuse to treat her unless it's absolutely necessary
My dad had to persuade them to do the CAT scan
She's just seen as a liability to the hospital
But now all of our sleep schedules are whack because hospital visit was until about 8am
She's still in a lot of pain but she's just carrying on
She has an appointment with her pain doctor up in Arlington later this week
And she sees a neurosurgeon in April
So that's what is keeping her going at the moment
BUT HEAR ME OUT I am bad at logic things
So when she broke her leg almost 2 years ago now
And one leg is shorter by 3 in. so she's at a constant tilt
I am aware how crazy it sounds but I honestly think she should be trying to even out her legs, I don't know how the heck they can do it
But I swear she would not be in as much pain if she wasn't forced at an angle constantly
Anyway, just airing frustrations at the medical shitstem
I'm sorry to hear all of this! but I do think your tilt adds merit
my mother is at a tilt now because of her leg issues and all of her pain is definitely amplified because her spine is now tilted/twisted from being hunched and leaning to one side
Yes, it's exactly this. Like the pain was there before the leg issue but now it just seems to have been amplified by it
And I'm sorry your mom is also dealing with this
It's hard to handle from a support standpoint
