I have surrendered the living room... kept the light on, blasting heavy metal down there, and put mye leftover pizza out of reach.

silverwolfcc If I'm asleep, make sure mom puts out mint, wears a mask, and checks for mice activity in there.

okay, is there anyone present who can set traps for these fuckers for you? x_x like I'm sorry but at this point if they're there and actively harming your health there's no point in mercy

I don't know if we have any

not what I was asking but yes having the actual traps are important too. Good old snap traps with an appealing bait (that hopefully won't set off allergies just from being in close proximity) can be pretty effective, set along the walls and in places that are high-traffic to the mice. If the mice are smart, putting the traps in a jar with just enough

room for the kill bar to clear is ideal so that they have no choice but to go into the danger zone if they want the bait

(I had a smart mouse. That's how I discovered the jar trick)

We have insanely smart mice

the only thing I'd worry about with snap traps is making sure the dog doesn't get into them. While I don't think the dog would get seriously hurt, that's still a big ouchie for little paws

seeds, peanuts, and especially peanut butter are usually great bait for mice, but again I don't know if those will trigger allergies in your household

it's pretty old hat for us by now
Rizu

well, they usually like smelly and sweet (usually why peanut butter is a winning bait) but they also eat grains a lot. so things like rice or quinoa would work

oh no. man why do mice gotta simultaneously be cute (in proper contexts) and also THE BANE OF OUR EXISTENCE (out of said contexts)

I remember we had some once or twice in our GA house...the saving grace is that we had a westie, so he popped them
Queen Bun

but yeah we had smart ones too

shame they're smart enough to be a bigger problem, but not smart enough to comprehend that they are creating a problem and find mutually acceptable solutions
