The youngest cousin I have from my dad's side

I think I mentioned her before..? She visited a few months ago for a major job interview

And she got the job!

The job is lol

Her residency for becoming a neurosurgeon

UVA accepted her, and her boyfriend who is going into anesthesiology also got into his program

They applied as a couple so it was all or nothing which apparently is quite risky

BUT EYYYYYYY I don't dislike this cousin, she's very down to earth. Terrifyingly intelligent, mild nepotism lol but it's also just well deserved

Her dad, my uncle, is also a neurosurgeon who has his own practice up in PA so apples and trees I guess

But it means that side of the family will have to visit us down here more often which is all good things, we like them enough so it all works out a bit c:

Anyway, finally a bit of good news despite the bad going on

at least this is good nepotism, as in an intelligent person who wants to be an important job got a leg up and some help getting said job

as opposed to someone who used connections to get a job they don't deserve

She's crazy smart, but I'm sure just having the right last name gave her a leg up with her interviews lol
