[Doctor Who] I've got two stories left on the Colin Baker BluRay that I have - Vengeance on Varos and Timelash. The first is supposed to be one of his better stories and the second is apparently so bad that even the writer disliked it, given that its title is a crude anagram.

I figure I should try to go out on a high note, so I'm going to watch Timelash.

I definitely notice a change between 6 and modern Doctors - when 6 lets his companion choose where they go, he brushes them off almost instantly, whereas later Doctors (10 comes to mind here) are earnest when they ask and listen to what their companion wants.

6 and Peri are my least favourite TARDIS team that I've seen so far. There might be worse that I haven't seen, but they don't work well together at all. (They're constantly bickering, 6's massive arrogance doesn't help, and there are times where Peri seems on the verge of bursting into tears)

If not for the Master being played by Anthony Ainley, I could see the Borad being the Burned Master in disguise.

Especially since the Doctor has been on this planet before.

Tekker's arrogance is going to backfire - he singlehandedly declared war on an alien race without the Board's approval for no reason.

Oh, the scholar is H.G. Wells. (His first name is Herbert, he's interested in the Doctor's time machine, and the villains are called the Morlox)

Also, he's a writer.

At least, if he's not H.G. Wells, I'll be surprised.

Peri has it rough in this serial, being dragged around by the neck and being lusted after by the villain (at least that seems to be the case)

Okay, so the Doctor came here when he was the 3rd Doctor (though I firmly disagree with the idea that he's changed for the better). Not sure if that would have been in his third season, his fifth season, or off-screen.

Well, that's disgusting - the Borad wants to use Peri to repopulate the planet.

"How did you survive being blown up by that missile?"
"Funny story - I'll tell you later."

Also, they're just leaving H.G. Wells on an alien planet. (Unless that last shout of "Herbert!" was the Doctor making him go back)

Not as bad as I was expecting, but the parts that were intended as comedy didn't seem as funny as they were believed to be.

There were brief moments where the Doctor and Peri showed concern for each other, but even brief feels like an understatement.

I feel like 6 would have worked better with a companion like Donna, who'd call him out on his BS, though that's speaking with forty years or so of hindsight and a non-linear perspective when it comes to Doctor Who.
