[politics?] why do people loudly demand to know why a poor or disabled person "deserves" their money, but you arent allowed to question why someone deserves 3000% profit margins on ANYTHING especially lifesaving medications? why do we accept that people are entitled to "as much as people are willing to pay" but aren't entitled to feed themselves?
the people who are into this believe that if you're poor or disabled then you deserve it
and if you're rich, you deserve it
both by divine will
but if you're poor and (their kind of) pious then clearly you need to keep praying and also support them and the prosperity will trickle down from heaven
they lean on the word "Entitlements" not because people are entitled to them but to cast blame about people "Feeling Entitled to them"
because government can't just "give people money to make their lives better", that's God's dominion
see also the crusades by rich Republicans against "welfare queens", which is mostly just poorly disguised racism
ugh, yeah it's definitely that. but it's so gross.
