so we got to the theater a little over twenty minutes early. which was cool because that was plenty of time for friend to get popcorn tho the place was relatively empty. but before we even made it inside our front we saw w×s cosplayers minus nene. which was wild because it meant prsk fans exist

they were also taking pics in the lobby. i for sure heard them talking about my cute plushes and one of them was urging someone else to say hi to me. i am an awkward fuck and honestly was kind of dazed so i didn't interact. had one of the kids said something tho i would have responded but that didn't happen. my brain was fried like oh god movie is happening

they don't do physical tickets anymore and when it was getting closer to seven PM the kids forgot which theater number the movie was showing. and my friend told me after the fact they said, before he could tell them himself, to just follow me because it looked like i was probably going to see the same movie

but when we got inside and heading to our seats someone just "ARE YOU HERE FOR THE MIKU MOVIE??" so that was kind of funny

classic v2 luka, rin and len would join up. looked like they were friends with the prsk cosplayers. and the theater was just us. honestly people showed up oddly late and a lot of them were dudebros. and one was a v2 miku who i didn't see until we were leaving

so LA MIGU MOVIE follows the prsk characters on their quest to save a miku through the power of deco27

i think it's what you can expect from a prsk movie. which isn't inherently bad. and honestly i understand why people got emotional because i think the movie is something someone would have needed at the moment

there were elements that surprised me. not in a plot twist kind of way but in the huh i didn't know i wanted to see this until i saw it. like this awesome parkour chase train scene in the wonderland sekai. that was honestly neat

and seeing all the sekai trashed. i didn't know i wanted to see that but apparently i did

i will preface this next comment with my biases. i am a basic bitch and my favorite group is wonderlands × showtime. sorry yall. but my second favorite group is more more jump

basically every group got to be the main character in the movie. except uuuuuh more more jump. have you heard of them??

when we were leaving the theater my friend commented on it unprompted and he thought airi and shizuku in particular got the short end of the stick

earlier in the movie everyone is showing movie miku about "how" they make music. and haruka showing her collection of penguins. just. yeah mmj didn't contribute a lot 💦

vivid bad squad was kind of in the same boat

leo/need, nightcord at 25:00 and wonderlands × showtime were wrestling to be the main character

but even then it felt like at least two got a bit more to shine than the other half of their unit. like honami who

so movie miku... i guess i will call her m×ku because of the x pattern in her design... m×ku is hiding in your wifi. she lurks in everything that has a screen and it draws attention to that there is another sekai which everyone sort of accepts. but ofc she gotta jumpscare some people

honestly it started sinking in that i was there at that movie when tsukasa did his little laugh thing. i pretty much have only really heard these characters talk on my phone screen so being surrounded by these sounds was just haha oh god

so this miku could sing. she just only knew two lines

and something about it reminded me of the familymart jingle

and m×ku straight up referenced the disappearance of hatsune miku

apparently gonna see the movie again today oh man oh man

so i have some wafer cards. i am happy because i got the full mmj set. but BUT i am taking them with me. i figure whoever is going today hasn't seen it yet so they don't know what to expect. if there happen to be any mmj fans i do want to give them a card. the odds of that are slim but still

i ain't gonna tell them why and maybe they won't be disappointed by the slight lack of mmj at the end but i am just gdi

ANYWAY. WHAT I REALLY LIKED. there was a lot of meiko. like. oh my god she is so cool. we didn't really see mmj or w×s version so much but for the couple seconds we saw her she totally slayed. which i will get to because i think ticking off in chronological order may be easier idk

this time around i realized mmj is in it more than i first thought. they just don't really have any scenes of the creative prosess so they tell us about intent. which is fine but it's just maaaaan sorry girls that's still kind of a bummer

at least vbs didnt get much time either. drag them down too fuck vbs

vbs was there more for creative process. when we see the groups getting together for the first time in the movie, actually, kohane is hyped about a new w×s show and an is eagerly listening. when touya shows up he sits so close besides an and is kind of deadpan TELL ME EVERYTHING. akito is just that guy sucks!! (tsukasa ofc not touya)

leo/need is talking about cats but they split up so ichika can meet batsumiku (which is what jp fans have been calling m×ku so let's go with that), mmj is shopping for clothes and w×s are doing show rehearsals

most of rui's appearances are his arm bent at the elbow for or hand on waist. idk why that stuck out to me but my brain decided that was fun

the w×s stuff mostly pleased me because their buddy system for the movie was mostly nene+tsukasa and emu+rui. like. the opening montage just had me aaaaaaaaaa because the former were playing dance rhythm game with the other two watching

i was gonna say this movie was pandering to me but if that were the case mmj would have had a little more to do ANYWAY

the way some of them were encountering batsumiku for the first time was wild. to some people batsumiku wouldn't be a clear image and would just be noise but ofc to the prsk ocs she was clear as day

she crashes an english class where shiho is being called on to read a passage "hinomori." but minori is the one who stood up and that was just oh noooooo but batsumiku's appearance definitely stiffled my secondhand embarrassment

ofc touya's midbite and dropping his bread

some of them were so casual about it!! and then there was tsukasa

when tsukasa's reading over a script, the living room television turns on. and he gets sadako'd by batsumaru. ofc he screams and then it cuts to his stoic arrival to phoenix wonderland. emu asks what's wrong and he doesn't say anything and just presents his phone. emu's just oh i met that miku

rui's quick to grill hatsumiku with questions. can you understand us?? nene's just you're scaring her

ena coming across batsumiku and mentioning it in nightcord chat for everyone to just be oh yeah i saw her too and ena's just ???? then kanade is all oh that miku is here. which just has ena and mizuki being all rfkethfgg. when kanade has batsumiku speak there's a few seconds of silence that was funny tbh

batsumaru asks about niigo's sekai. mizuki says "it's a little empty but it's fun!" with the first screening i accidentally said a thought out loud, "don't lie to her!" but i didn't shout it so i don't think anyone heard me which is good. and it was only the tirst time sorry people

they take batsumiku to the empty sekai and their miku is there. mizuki being all "miku met miku!!" feels like such a trailer line. both audiences laughed. i was wondering what would happen with two mikus in the same sekai. like. if one would go poof or, like mizuki said, would form together for a delux miku. honestly mizuki being so damn real

AND EMPTY MEIKO WAS there honestly meiko is just so cool in general. the way she was posed if it was someone like kaito or len i would have internally bullied but meiko "ate" as the kids would say

i know i said meiko was cool already but i am not here to give an unbiased or good synopsis

what followed would be a montage of what i mentioned earlier as well of batsumiku hanging out with everyone as she tries to learn what music was. and honestly one of my favorite parts was in the street sekai

street meiko was making cookies and street miku wanted to help. and miku brought over flour and meiko was all hold on we need to measure stuff. and miku dumped the whole package of flour into the bowl. which had the saddest moment where i realized oh virtual singers do have souls because i witnessed meiko's leave her body

miku asked what next and meiko was just. go get some cookie cutters. "will do!"

and batsumiku meeting stage miku was also kind of fun. i do wish it went on for longer because hearing the different tuning between them was neat. didn't get the same feeling with batsumiku and empty miku but that was probably intentional

it was funny to me that spending time with shiho meant shiho mopping. just idk that was funny

sorry i keep stopping. thinking about the movie just has me so aaaaaaa

quick mention i got the postcard on second viewing! i had thought they would have done the second movie poster where it was just miku but super stoked they did the original one. i liked it when they first revealed it so aaaah i get to own a mini version!!!!

the mizuki cosplayer from yesterday is one of al's friends from college!! i was going to say small world but not really because this was the movie location closest to this area. how neat though

after spending time with batsumiku she learns more than the two lines of her song

and all the groups sing it with her. they all sing a line each and w×s so damn loud

and this gets the plot moving forward with batsumiku becoming more confident and wanting to sing at people who are struggling. but her voice doesn't "reach" anyone like she hoped and it sends her spiraling. this causes it to snow these little shards in the other sekai and causes the characters to teleport and be subjected to people's feelings of failure

this was kind of fun because yeah the groups were together but within the group when they were falling teleporting they were a little split and not in the same likely buddy system that's typical like it was minori+shizuku and haruka+airi as opposed to the expected minori+haruka and shizuku+airi

it didn't add or take away anything something in my brain just enjoyed it. tho vbs was exempt and they had their usual

also during the fall nenerobo-chan said she detected strong emotions and rui was all what do you mean and i was just what do you mean????

all the ocs end up in batsumiku's sekai. it's all just idk bunch of white sand and dark windows and a bunch of broken code shit that are people's shriveled feelings. there is also this funky thing at the top that is on the verge of talking

and i liked how l/n when they landed it was all pretty much on their asses sans shiho who made touchdown on her feet. shiichan is so cool oya oya

and their outline colors were different and basically their group colors. w×s seemed a bit more yellowy green than orange tho. but that was fun

and with them all talking to miku they had it so no one overlapped. like. i was unsure for a little bit if each group was aware of the other being there (which they were not)

batsumiku becomes overwhelmed by the negative emotions and the leaders of each group are all we'll help you!! but miku tears up and five lighter windows appear. and it's here that batsumiku says arigatou soshite sayonara. which i am just. this is the disappearance of hatsune miku, right? the broken code is all 0 and 1 like in the song

the new windows open to reveal the twilight zone and suck in everyone. there are a couple stragglers tho. minori is all wait a sec!! and she stumbles but does get sucked up. which i guess could be perceived as a bit silly but i am just oh noooo she really wants to help!!

and then there is tsukasa. he manages to catch onto the window frame "not me!!!!" and resists initially. but then nenerobo-chan rams right into him with a thunk. and i can't believe both times i was the only one who laughed especially when how people were laughing at tsukasa before. like that shit was funny ok

especially the second audience because theu laughed when one of the npcs was freaking out on her sister and was just "i want to disappear." how was that funny but the hollow sound of impact not

and they all get sent back to the real world and honestly man the quiet of only hearing sounds like fireworks and train and background people talking. none of the groups talking and all just sort of fixed in place. it did its job of conveying how serious whatever they just saw was

because it was just some seconds of just holding on how stunned they all were. aaaaand then there is a blackout. and batsumiku is so powerful that she can even take out cell phones

the tenma house didn't lose power but saki couldn't get in contact with the rest of l/n because their power was gone. and weekend garage still had power. a customer described it as "a little oasis in hell"
"isn't hell a bit much??"
"hell is having no phone"
LIKE. MY GOD

but what's exciting is what happens during the blackout. because that funky thing at the top of batsumiku's sekai explodes and darkness is unleashed!! that begins to invade the other sekai and we get to see a majority of them sans classroom try to escape

seeing the stage singers climb up... on the stage in a rush was just. well they were slightly more dignified about it. guess they didn't want to accidentally flip a skirt. the street singers tried to barricade the front of meiko's cafe. and we hold on a shot of street rin which i ain't a fan of

she's gritting her teeth but there's no line to distinguish the top row from bottom so it just kind of makes me think of when rui shows teeth

and the darkness lets itself into meiko's cafe to cut to wonderland sekai

it's kind of funny given the wonderland singers tuning. they sound cheery for folks fleeing for their lives. BUT IT'S SO COOL all the plushies are on the train. and the singers are hauling ass not too far ahead of the darkness as they jump from rooftops and bubbles. meiko grabs rin and flings her in the air to get to the train. very neat

kaito is on the caboose and miku does some gymnastics and grabs onto his hand. but when she does the darkness gets around her ankle

THEN IT CUTS TO EMPTY SEKAI

they're all just literally standing there watching the darkness come right at them. with meiko standing furthest ahead. a very lovely profile shot. basically they're all that beach scene with the father and daughter from deep impact

and bam darkness overtakes the screen and meiko is gone. but the darkness clears with meiko still being there. which has meiko surprised. and she turns to see oh the darkness only wanted the main character. only miku gets taken up by the darkness

when power returns all the characters go back to their sekai to find out that miku is the main character

classroom sekai has a little shine here because it felt like it showed how the singers reflect from l/n. meiko was kind of curled down and withdrawn while rin rushed to cry into ichika's chest about mikupyon

empty len asked mafuyu what would they do about miku and mafuyu was just no idea. the little noise len made in response has stuck with me and is apparently worth mentioning

wonderland kaito has survival guilt because he couldn't save miku

and suddenly each vocaloid sekai rep of the movie all song parts of batsumiku's song with more lines added on. which had the characters deduce that they need to perform a song to help miku

which is mostly delivered to us through mmj because they won't really have anything to show in the following montage

i can't believe i didn't mention that the music in the film is good. and i don't mean just the songs sung by the characters. or maybe not good but like the score i enjoyed?? because the last two montages had good music and i actually want to know if there is a soundtrack

so they're all going to make a new song for batsumiku and perform them at various places on the same day. and none of them know that everyone else is the main character. everyone thinks they're just the one group doing one song for miku

vbs record their vocals for their songs. and it was sort of funny to me when they were sharing their recordings akito was just "even mine are cutting it" and touya was all "yeah..."

shizuku booked the location for mmj's performance live stream. that is how hinomori shizuku contributed to the plot

w×s have this little conversation when nenerobo mentions other people were present at batsumiku's sekai but she couldn't distinguish their forms
emu: like they're aliens?!
tsukasa: no basically they're from another dimension
nene: what's so "basic" about that
rui: it raises a lot of questions but we have to focus on what we know

like. what an... exchange...

kanade says she wants mafuyu to write the lyrics as always. mafuyu says she only writes what she feels and what she feels isn't what the batsumiku feels. kanade doesn't budge on this tho and mafuyu accepts. and idk i feel it's important. because they are trying to reach out to those who have given up. and perseverance has different faces. so kanade was right

okay it gets weird because there is this scene at the otori house. emu is requesting that they make use of the phoenix wonderland showtime stream for their show. dad seems a bit annoyed because there is no stream planned for that day but says he leaves it up to the rest of the family to decide. he ditches the convo and emu basically is all pls oniichan

hinata is lurking in the background like she would run interference but the movie said we are not paying the seiyuu not today because emu's brothers easily agree. and idk something about it was just weird???? this and the other w×s scene prior were just an odd experience

but emu is happy and honestly we're getting close to the finish line here

there is a countdown shown on kanade's computer a few times. and when we get to the end of the montage proper you see everyone titling their song on sheet music or the wall or some other third thing and then it leads to hands in the middle

ok only mmj does hands in the middle. just idk why it made me feel something. and vbs and l/n waiting in the wings. niigo entering their sekai

w×s have nene, rui and tsukasa facing us and there being a sudden onset of wind. emu's back is to us as her feet lift from the ground

and these performances are when we see the new outfits for the movie. i was dumbly wondering about them the first time. besides one trailer that didn't show a lot from months ago i was so adamant about not watching any other trailers or the mvs or listening to the songs. i could have put that shit together partway alas i did not head empty

the first time i was just haha oh man are we strapping in for a full deco concert?? i was able to figure out the songs were cut without having heard them. i know songs have been getting shorter but he ain't kanaria

i actually only listened to the full songs proper after yesterday's screening

the second screening i think i enjoyed this portion more. first time i enjoyed it but there was this privilege of sitting in the front row the second time. because i felt bass in my chair and i was just "is that the movie beside us?? oh no it's vbs." sadly i am not tall enough for my feet to be on the floor when sitting properly in the seats

so i could have probably felt more if i had full contact but it's okay i felt it nonetheless

vbs song was first. and yeah it was a "banger" as the kids would say. it felt like a good hype song. the lyrics matched the group's energy. tho my friend said while he liked all the songs the vbs one was a weaker one to him because the lyrics didn't make him feel swayed. like the song's purpose didn't give him that feeling of yeah this would motivate me

touya and akito do that singing into each other's mic like in uta pri. kohane and an were cute. it occurred to me that maybe hand mics aren't ideal since they are dancers but oh well who cares it was going into the next song at the amusement park

emu comes in flying from this little droid and she detaches to land on stage with the rest of the group. and she is basically the main character trying to cheer everyone else up. honestly the lyrics were cute. and my friend apparently thought this was on the higher end of the motivational scale

the full version tho. after that part they tell emu it's her turn and they all cheer her up. and i am just IF YOU'RE GOING TO CRY THEN DO IT IN FRONT OF US my heart!!!

that being said. all the positives but i don't think i can place it at the top of the motivational song list from the groups. i think it would be second. it's not deco's fault he makes me think of deco but every time i heard the song in combo with emu's look i am reminded of something elseMILGRAM -ミルグラム- / アマネ「おまじない」第一審MV

it wasn't like there was a reprieve betweeb vbs and w×s but the switch to mmj made it feel like there was because the song just starts

sorry thinking about the songs for sure pulls at something. they were all good. and the vocals and mixing were lovely. like. thinking of mmj's song just made me think of that. which is great because i don't have a lot to say about it. friend put this in the same tier as vbs because the lyrics didn't meet the requirements of motivation

but i thought they were cute and the chorus just has the right notes that it has something hit in my chest and i think the chorus is cute. basically the song is cute. the full mv is also really cute it has a winged minori getting to the other girls like a video game. which feels suitable with how she reached to all of them in the main story

niigo is after. this one my friend really liked the lyrics hit him. and yeah. lovely song. it was interesting visually because obviously it's just a video going live to the rest of the world. but they combine ena's art within the sekai which was neat

the lyrics under the pretense of mafuyu writing them saying that they're light is just aaaaaaah

it feels like over the last few days i realized i am more invested in l/n than i thought i was. i don't stan but it seems like idk i get into them a little. and something about their song made this feeling in my face like i could cry

friend liked their lyrics. the lyrics were definitely l/n so that's why i was just am i more into them than i think?? because something about their lyrics hit and i can't say what it is

saki clapping enthusiastically at one point in the song and honami with the drumsticks was all cute

something at the end of it all just felt nostalgic i guess. and l/n idk. i don't have deep aspirations or anything i want to do. and lately i have been feeling physically not great in spite of what i do. and sometimes i am just maybe it's okay to just lay out somewhere?? not that i ever would. but sometimes listening to the right songs helps

and i associate vocaloid with my sibling. he didn't get me into it but i definitely found a way to crypton ones because of it. seeing him playing the melancholic map on project diva lamely changed something in my brain forever. we have gone to multiple miku expos together. we would do luka luka night fever dance together

and his health has worsened. i wasn't going go to mikuexpo without him. i couldn't do that. and he struggles a lot with some stuff. and hearing some of those songs from years ago just makes me want to give up on that bad attitude like it's all hopeless. we can't go back and i can't give him everything he deserves

but i want to be dependable enough. no these songs haven't saved my life or anything but they made life more fun

the performances reach batsumiku through the dejected dreamer npcs who i have failed to mention. not a big deal like obviously this night in the film is going to cure depression. which it does. and batsumiku has an outfit change and is able to sing hello sekai in full properly. it's the weakest song in the film i think but not bad

and everyone ends up in batsumiku's sekai again. it is bright now with less fucked up windows. interestingly, unlike before, you can see indistinct silhouettes of other characters in shots where the main characters in the conversation are happening

their songs saved her and they're all happy. yippee. but she says she has a lot of work to do. "arigatou shoshite" and the prsk ocs respond with "sayonara" before they are more politely led to exit

kohane and tsukasa cry which man. maaaaan

damn i forgot to mention. obviously they get to that sekai again because it was snowing sekai bits in their sekai again. they are all reunited with their respective mikus. the way ichika hugged classroom miku definitely conveyed a feeling. like that is what it felt like to see miku on a screen again to me. i haven't seen her since 2018!

mizuki told empty miku that mafuyu missed her. "i did? ............ i guess i did." ena was totally caught off guard

kohane was in tears over her miku. they were really going to make this girl cry for the last ten minutes gdi

wonderland kaito apologize to miku that he failed to save her. miku basically told him to get over it because look!! she's back!!

and we go to a montage of just life being normal. just small things. like interactions at school among non group...mates. doing little part time jobs

l/n meeting up at one point and the way saki waves with both hands is so cute and worth reporting

at the end of the montage, w×s has taiyaki together. everyone takes a bite right out of theirs sans rui who rips his in half before taking a bite

at the start of the movie, l/n were talking about saki wanting to feed cats. and the movie ends with them coming across a cat who has a funny meow. saki hadn't seen the cat for so long and was unprepared!! but shiho had a cat treat with her. which shocker no one teased her about. the cat liked it

saki: can i pet it???? pretty please??
shiho: why are you asking me??
when it pulls out into a further shot you can see saki petting the cat. and the movie ends confirming l/n is indeed the second main character

and the credits roll. the credit song by jin plays over the whole thing. at one point near the end text flicks through all the group colors. the song had all the prsk ocs in it and idk i liked it a lot

because yeah i had thought about it. i have only known these kids for five seconds but with the last nene event giving emu her b plot of BuSiNeSs MaNaGeMeNt. i was thinking they actually are paving a way to keep w×s from splitting. LIKE at least it wouldn't be an enstars asspull so it would narratively make sense

i think they're gonna build their own stage. or at least start on the way to doing that. because a lot of troupes do have their own space that is... theirs

or at the very least this will be the end of their training arc
