there is a pointy metal bit poking my tongue, and I don't feel the wire where I should
this repair cost $A NUMBER I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE RECOUNTING HERE
less than a root canal, more than a filling
(of the latter I have had several; don't be like me, kids, and let your depression get you out of tooth care habits)
too late I haven't been a daily tooth brusher since the last time I was homeless
also i can't judge i also fell into the "brain no worky forget to dental" and that's why i just got new prosthetics slapped in my face yesterday
yeah I think due to the depression hole I fell out of daily tooth brushing when I was like, fifteen, and it's a damn hard habit to rebuild
a few years ago I got fifteen fillings simultaneously and my whole mouth hurt an exciting amount for six months
yeah I wasn't a steady tooth brusher until my first round of therapy at 21 and even now twice a day is tough but I have managed to stick to once
update: returning to the orthodontist who initially put it in got me "oh hi, [casual first name], I see your problem: this type of thing has an average lifespan of 5 years and we put it in 20 years ago. let's get the bits off you, and we'll whip up a conventional retainer while you wait."
including the wait, it took under an hour and cost about 1/3 of what the dentist charged
that's why he has the fluorishing practice
I think I remember the mobile above my chair from when I was a teenager
the back of my teeth where the retainer glue/bits got sanded off is still a weird bad texture
Oh rip bad texture but at least it's fixed???
fixed! and gonna yell at the dentist for my money back because yeesh
yeah for real that dentist does not deserve that money
I'm glad orthodontist helped!!
he's really good! both in skill and in bedside manner
like telling you what he's doing, which is how I know my teeth got sanded
honestly yeah, "you repaired this and it snapped a week later" is extremely "i want my money back" kind of hours
