I have a problem where

I'm working on this oneshot & fleshing out its larger context

& I don't want to lean too heavily on Bloodlines

but VTMB was so fucking good and also so goddamn foundational for me

I think a good thing to do to avoid that is lean into the location you've chosen

Whatever city it's closest to, use some inspiration from there to avoid leaning too hard into Bloodlines
