We've done a lot of travelling. We've stayed in a bothy in the woods near Aberdeen, the hot water came from a wood burning stove and honestly the forest was so peaceful. It was actually really useful because I'd been jonesing on a woodburning stove and back boiler and I learned that I cannot cook on one
I mean I got pretty good by the end but honestly I would not be able to rota it into cooking and also it would be too bloody hot in the summer
Then we stayed in a weird chalet on a loch and everything in it was made in the 1970s/80s and there was no mobile signal at all
Then we went to South Uist which is honestly lovely but weird. If you were driving along and saw a person or a car driving they would wave at you. So you'd drive around waving the whole time
Next up the highlands which was a lovely house and lovely walks but when you get anywhere near the nc500 it gets peopley and gross
Alex did find an abandoned mansion that Coco Chanel lived in for a bit tho
We're currently staying in a village in the cowal peninsula and we're going to be here for 3 weeks because it's a: cheap and b: closeish to the house that we finally found!
The house is going to be a renovation job cos it's a bit shagged but the garden is just so incredible. They've accepted our offer and if all goes well we get the keys on the 9th
No inside pictures but lemme show you the outside a bit
so it's on a main road but set back a bit and it has this crazy cliff in the garden and you can climb up and there's a bench and lovely views of the beach which is over the road
there's a river and bridge that is part of the garden too, the bridge is the old one and the road is the new bridge so it's just sat there looking pretty
so along the river there's like a woodland that's full of bluebells which are hopefully out when we move in and it goes on for ages, it's such a big wild space. the third pic is the view from the top of the cliff
There's also a cave and a well
Holy hell, that looks amazing!
That’s amazing! You have found a good one there!
oof, that's just spectacular
wow wow wow! Great update. What an adventure and what a lovely house...the setting is magical
That bridge alone would sell me on it!
allbutspeechless: It was a big help! It's covered in grass atm I want to plant some flowers on top
I also forgot while in North Uist we saw the grave of Hercules a famous bear who spent several weeks on the run on the island but didn't kill anything because he was very tame. It was very wholesome
Looks lovely, is that a loch you look out on to?
Bri_Lannock: Nah tis the Atlantic, it's on the west coast of the kintyre peninsula!
Oh wow, you’ll get amazing sunsets
