But we are very hidden, very out of the way, and there's only about 20 homes on this road. It leads to a "dead end" that isn't a real dead end but instead just a non-serviced road lol

So they are redoing the road!

And an elderly neighbor

POLKA GUY if anyone remembers that

Saw the pave work and it was not up to par

He went to talk to the workers

Realized they were drunk and called the county to complain

THAT EMOTE FACE SHOULD NOT BE THERE BUT

We'll just run with it

So

County sends someone around lunch to talk to them

And they (I guess?) got sent home after it was confirmed they were inebriated

But lol as a result

The work was just SUDDENLY stopped

So there's like. Half of a very uneven, awful new asphalt sitting there and half crumbly old and dying asphalt

What a mess

So now they can't send someone for another week

And half the neighborhood is like JUST LET THEM FINISH, POLKA GUY

And the other half is relieved they were stopped from pouring anymore asphalt

lol

Don't blame Polka guy, he was doing his best

Either way, it sounds like the new asphalt is so uneven that they will have to strip it and redo the whole thing anyway

I am kindly assuming the people upset about the disruption were people checking the neighborhood group chat while at work

And they don't see just how bad it is
