Making the sharp bends was almost magical in the technique because the point is actually a finishing off point in both cases.
This looks so intricate!
You make three toes, use the fourth to join, then work to the ankle, create a new opening using chain stitches then close off the joint and finish off. Reattach to make a new tube and repeat those elbow steps, then attach one final time for the thigh.
It's the kind of thinking that makes you feel like you will never be a great designer because you couldn't plan like that.
