The game looks very cool, very fun. My biggest reservation was the fear of zergs
According to AMA guy, there are no nameplates and friendly fire is possible
Which leads me to a NEW concern
If Friendly-fire is possible then...... how do you group play??
Boy, I can't wait to get headshot by a guildmate
These things make no sense
So I was talking with a friend about this. They are extremely and unreasonably hyped for this game
And they're like No, this is great. People will have to voice chat and communicate so friends recognize each other
And I pointed out VERY QUICKLY
Not if you're a woman, voice chat is dangerous
And they said "more often than not men are caught off guard by women gaming, you can use it to your advantage"
ORRRRRRRRRR I could just end up getting harassed more!
I am very on the fence, more than previously
I know how to deal with zergs
I do not know how to deal with FFA and the risk of voice chat harassment
Obviously, I can d/c my mic and just type
But ain't nobody got time for that
So we'll see. I'll just wait for reviews to come in at this point
....yeah your friend clearly does not understand what women go through in online gaming
men aren't caught off-guard by women gaming, their dicks are
if anything then they start bullying you out of the game
anyway if i was doing this game i would be developing something like a grouping mechanic where you're immune to friendly fire in that mode
i am far too used to FF14 where friendly fire doesn't exist, i would kill everyone around me lmao
Ya so the risk of grouping is you can do a group of guild leaders who then communicate to the rest of their guild where everyone's positions are so they're avoided
You zerg by taking like One guild on east, one west, etc
And depending on party size, that can be chaotic as well
I understand the need to avoid zergs, it kills pvp games constantly
But I don't know if ffa is also the way to go
didn't the fallout mmo try this and had to walk ot back because people suck?
also lol at women "surprising" men in gaming
yes I'm sure that's how the ladies in cod/halo/mw feel about it
Idk Fallout but I can't imagine this will go well in the long run
Guilds are already limited to 32 people, that's nothing
That will mean very high activity expectations and turn around for pvp or active guilds
But since it's ffa, do guilds even serve a purpose? In which case, why is this even MMO-ish?
