and will watch someone go through the worst torture for days and just be like "awww that sucks"

Yes, but he also said it was one of the reasons he was so eager to go with the admiral, and considering the multiple examples Walter has of Malcolm outright dissociating or otherwise numb, Walter does really think that he is incapable of going back home and therefore underactualized

yeah, generally it seems split between like. "this is a harmful power imbalance" and "well they're both consenting adults"

This concern can occasionally occur in W/W or I/I ships as well
