Okay, so I understand we are used to mini maps, I get that. We've been trained to have them in most games

But idk story wise? It doesn't make any sense

The continent ISN'T mapped. They barely had a good judge of a landing point. They didn't know there was a second sea. None of it is common knowledge

SO IDK I know it'd be easier for players but also I've memorized every map without it. My New Game+ is going way faster because I know every map by heart after having gotten lost the first go 'round

It's kinda nice? To just be like zip zip around and go. No map required. But yes, it was annoying at first

Anyway, there's a split online about it. Reddit whining and I think there was an article that was pro-mini map

i'm also of the camp that a mini map wasn't needed.. i really enjoyed getting 'lost' but even then there was always a reward for going off the main path? and the maps are simple enough imo

Yeah, they really aren't that massive. I could see someone who is very new to open world or instanced world maps being overwhelmed. But there are good non-spoilery guides if need be too

I have a sticky note of each location that I cross off instead lol

Maybe that's too meticulous...

Especially when you have to go back after getting the 4 Gestral kiddos
