They beat and arrested the leader of the SEIU for standing in front of a truck
They beat and arrested another man for standing in front of a garage
“Police detain a protester blocking the garage entrance of the Los Angeles Federal Building following multiple detentions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in downtown Los Angeles, California, U.S., June 6, 2025. REUTERS/Daniel Cole”
“Detain”, that’s a nice way to put “hit in the back of the head/neck with a giant stick and then had four armed and armored officers beat him while he laid on the ground”
LOL:
Oh yeah, they’re real “heroes”
Sorry correction that wasn’t a man they are beating up in those two photos it’s a woman
This is fucking horrifying
I feel like they're hitting LA harder because it's a sanctuary city
to show that not even the 'woke cities' are safe
Someone also got hit by an ICE SUV
Schist: they are 100% hitting sanctuary cities
"brave ICE officers" is quite the oxymoron
Funny how these are the same people that cried about states rights during Covid
"you have no say in this" lmao what is democracy
states' rights only when it's what we want
Stephen Miller wants to be Goebbels so bad. He was a fascist at SaMo High and he's a worse, cucked fascist now.
(Paramount is a city next to the city of Los Angeles and is part of Los Angeles county, for those who don’t know)
They hit Porto’s in Downey apparently
If you have a neighborhood app, get on it
Yeah ICE is making an example of Los Angeles
I saw someone make a comment about it on a reel, so take it with as much salt as you feel is warranted. But they mentioned it was all over the neighborhood app so folks stayed away.
It seems like they’re hitting Home Depot’s pretty consistently

There are reports of ICE hitting small child school graduations (i can’t remember if it was elementary school or kindergarten specifically from memory) on Friday to go after parents.
so they're fine with being cartoonishly evil now. good to know
I saw the reels about ICE hitting elementary schools but can’t find any news articles to back it up.
Early this week ICE did arrest a nine year old here and move him and his dad to a concentration camp in Texas without trial.
And the nine year old went to an elementary school in Torrance (part of LA county)
but calling them the secret police is "rude" and "dangerous"
it's only dangerous if you make it dangerous by being vengeful assholes, my guys
I don't even know what the White House means by saying it's dangerous for people (specifically Boston mayor Wu) to call them the secret police
it means they're going to retaliate against the mayors and their cities in increasingly bad ways if they continue to speak up
my town was called out as being a target by DHS because of its sanctuary policies. including law enforcement not assisting non-criminal arrests by ICE
Ayasugi_san: yeah I think the saying it’s dangerous is an implicit threat
“It’ll be dangerous if you keep upsetting me”
though Trump fanboys will probably say "he means it's promoting division and lack of trust in the government while allowing dangerous criminals on your streets!"
Yeah well they still occasionally keep up the plausible deniability for some reason
they gotta feed that victim complex
Saw on the evening news 2,000 national guard will be deployed unless someone puts a pause on it. Nobody in CA asked for them. Our governor is speaking against it.
I have no doubt this will be an attempt to make an example out of a liberal city, and that the administration is gleeful at the opportunity to sew chaos in a blue state.
I’ve seen some reports that if the unasked for national guard can’t put a stop to the protests that next step is mobilizing marines from Pendleton
fascists always find it dangerous for people to call them out
both in the sense of a threat, and in the sense that it's dangerous to the fascists
Trump also threatened that the federal government could “step in” to deal with the unrest, saying:
“If Governor Gavin Newscum, of California, and Mayor Karen Bass, of Los Angeles, can’t do their jobs, which everyone knows they can’t, then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!”
NO ONE IS LOOTING ANYTHING
The “riots” are entirely us trying to defend against these fucking stormtroopers kidnapping people!
this is the same bullshit they were claiming w/the retail robberies which 100% were not happening lmao
boarded up places in sf is bc the rent is so fuckin high
and retail in and of itself, they get writeoffs for theft & a lot of shrink is operational and internal
external theft is def a factor but way overblown
but this rambling lunatic and his base are convinced all urban areas are just mad max 24/7 bc they're racist and classist
No one is looting that I’ve seen. It’s community members rising up to fight the gestapo
"riot", meaning "when people object to my behavior"
it's 1000% protecting people from ICE, a lot of these raids aren't happening where ~precious retail~ is
and I hesitate to say the Governor is speaking against it. he didn't say a thing about refusing his own state's NG being used against it, y'know, like a stooge
remember when Newsom was going to be priming himself to be the next president? Dude crumpled like wet origami
yeah "riot" is code for "people are protesting against our actions and we don't like that"
it doesn't matter if the protesters are peaceful because resistance necessitates violence as far as these people are concerned
When I mentioned Newsom speaking against something, it's the national guard being deployed. I did not catch any other commentary from him on the bigger situation in that report.
yeeeeah, fuck Newsom, we need a dem with a spine and a respect for our people and our rights. I hope he disappears from politics after his shitty showing against the fascist regime
Still frustrated that we're still stuck with him, I was so overwhelmed after finding out who we got stuck with for president that I hadn't realized we weren't able to oust Newsom in November
yeah we need an actual dem gov with a spine and I hope to god people don't go stupid and elect a fashie red guy
I’m not going to pretend that people aren’t getting violent against ICE here but it ALWAYS starts as just a bunch of people peacefully obstructing, it’s always ICE who throws the first punch and then we meet their violence with violence

this woman was literally just standing to block an ICE garage
I watched a live stream on the citizen app yesterday of an incident happening a few block from me where a guy was just recording ICE kidnapping someone, not laying his hand on anyone, and a masked ICE prick came right up and hit him in the face
yeah i don't think everyone in militia gear is actually ice
their gear is non-standard and distinctly different than the identified ICE
i think it's a mixed bag and that's why they're hiding their faces
well another reason they're hiding them
National Guard has arrived and is setting up in DTLA at a federal building
yeah I'm pretty sure the union president they hospitalized and held without charges is currently being accused of basically standing in front of a car and inconveniencing ICE slightly
This is going to go on for at least 30 days
per a congress person I cannot recall the name of right now because I know if i open social media i'll rabbit hole too long
There’s a leftist marine veteran streamer I watch and he was commenting on how ICE doesn’t adhere to a uniform and why that’s a bad thing
it's pretty telling that even their own justifications for crackdowns are pretty much "they annoyed us so we started beating the shit out of them and it's their fault"
A bunch of dorks in military cosplay you can buy an military surplus stores
there are men doing just that and abducting women across the country by impersonating ICE
and yeah I don't love seeing someone wearing both "POLICE" and dollar store military camo gear...
Guys carrying long guns and wearing tri color camo in an urban environment
like it's not a secret that militarization of the police is a problem, but that's a bit on the nose
people playing too much COD thinking that's normal
(i have plenty of friends who play COD and know it's not normal, so not blaming video games)
the propaganda is real though
all these tanks that they're bringing in for DC - the roads aren't designed to take the loading of such vehicles
ESPECIALLY the historical roads
I'd have to dig into the civil engineering specs for DC, which I'm too tired to do, but typical highway is H-20/H-25 load rated, which is anything that you'd have in traffic
it includes 18 wheelers towing big loads
It does not include tanks
Wonder how they'd like it if some armed and masked vigilantes started attacking them.
Disasterkins: my guess is the ones being attacked would hate it, and the fascists in charge would gleefully take it as an opportunity to ramp up even more violent authoritarianism, using the mask vigilantes to raise enough doubt that it inhibits the pushback
You're right and I hate it.
I just wish there was some sort of justice.
for all his (significant) faults, I still credit Niven for "TANJ" (There Ain't No Justice) becoming a popular swear in the Known Space setting
Schist: In hot weather, even trucks the roads
are rated for can deform the pavement...it's a serious problem in Baltimore, our major roads are
rippled because of it.
Something even heavier, in June? Yeah, not going to be good.
Also, they probably hit the person recording because recordings of unconstitutional behavior are evidence, evidence is accountability, and accountability is an attack to these people...
I'm sure destroying DCs roads is a plus for them, given how the repugs hate the residents of DC
my worry is what they might do with all those tanks once they have them there
yeah I am terrified of this building to something bigger
Considering I'm pretty sure this is exactly what the Nazis did to normalize military presence in urban areas...
at the very least it's part of the larger exercise in eroding norms in general
Where the fuck did the AP get the doofus that wrote this shit? “A less flattering side of Los Angeles.” Apparently it’s not flattering to fight off fascists tooth and nail? We should roll over and just let these secret police kidnappings happen, that’d be much more flattering, right?
https://apnews.com/...
but they weren't ~being respectable~ and doing things ~properly~
who gaf about the Olympics and world cup these people are trying to stop fascists from kidnapping their friends family and neighbors
speaking as someone who lives here, fuck the olympics, this is actually important
why are we doing this when like... this nation is dangerous for people not born here.
why would ANYONE COME HERE.
like I get why certain nation protest the olympics and the world cup now.
who has time for a party with everything is going up in flames?
also wasn't the last Olympics in France. country famous for rioting and setting shit on fire in the streets (and more power to them fwiw)
spoilers: every single act of protest is unacceptable to them and "a riot" no matter what happens and justifies police brutality
source: my mom insists every single protest is "a riot" every time and I'm like "you mean you trust the media?" every time too
even though we wouldn't have civil rights, or a weekend, unions, food safety, or a whole hell of a lot of things without protests
...yeah no really there are crazy people pulling all the levers they can get their hands on, for your own sake, this is not a good time to visit
i know someone who, after living abroad for several years, recently came back to the US with their non-American spouse, and I'm just..... i understand there are a lot of considerations, but you're doing this right now???
not to mention didn't Trump just sign some more travel bans?
i don't think they're high up on the list of target demographics, at least, but...
you can't expect tourism dollars when you build an increasing reputation of treating valid passports conditionally, dude's fundamentally a dimwit. Canadians, French, and UK citizens have already been flagged for illegal detention, it's lunacy.
Either you make exceptions for famous ppl, or you will have international incidents.
I'm sure the wealthy who are nice to him will have no problems from him, no matter who they are or what they do.
For now. Putin eventually turned on his oligarchs. Lots of deaths by windows.
...anyone else is a question mark, depends on whether they draw attention, probably.
well yeah they probably became slightly less nice to him when he cost them dearly
trying to jail democrats in congress for saying Trump is doing bad things
Can't wait for her FO period. It's coming, and it won't be pretty for her.
one of Jess's undergrad professors had, at that time, spent over a decade studying the violent gangs in the LA sheriff's department. Which is obviously not the lapd, but she had also, thru that, had a lot on contact with and assembled a lot of information on how horrific the lapd is as well
When they do psyche screenings they test for the wrong things and ignore the red flags.
and then training reinforces all the wrong things
yeah "ACAB" didn't come from nowhere, and LAPD doesn't exactly have the purest of reputations as police forces go
and that video's a great example (morally awful, but great for demonstration) honestly, like you can tell one of the other cops there knows he's supposed to get his angy friend to chill out or get the hell away from the situation
but he can't quite bring himself to actually do what he knows he's supposed to do, both ethically and pragmatically
that's exactly how you get from Good Intentions to ACAB--if you go out of your way to be trusted with a potentially life-or-death responsibility which is supposed to include keeping your colleagues in line and then systematically fail to do it, that's bad, no matter your intentions
it'd be like if EMTs systematically didn't bother rushing to answer calls, didn't pay any attention to what they were doing, didn't say anything to prevent a coworker from making a mistake...
Also, people in that job who act on good intentions when it involves keeping their coworkers in line often die in the line of duty under mysterious or not so mysterious circumstances.
Or quit when they realize that's the most likely outcome, because the command structure enables bad behavior and punishes conscientiousness.
or worse things, like the dude that was kidnapped "legally" and held in a psych ward when he tried to get bad cops in his house bounced
yeah there's definitely a strong and well documented tendency for Actually Good Cops to be either harassed out of the force, or harassed into not being Good any more
Sadly all too easily to believe.
they not only did that, they made a fucking challenge coin about it
...the stunning part is that it didn't become a huge conversation back then.

from page 21 of
this
I have to wonder what he was being out through that he backed down from his initial "no settlement no matter what" position
..........imagine being charged with upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the public
and to represent that, you come up with a logo of a flame-eyed Death's Head with the worst STREET CRIME and WE RULE THE NIGHT
if it didn't explicitly say it's a police thing I would 100% assume that's something you find on violent street gang jackets from the 80s
songofkeys: i did not know about the challenge coin, holy fuck
yeah it's so absolutely vile
