(Meaning stick your head so far up your ass you lose sight of reality, and so obsessed with the past you become regressive rather than capable of adaptimg to situstions ANNNND: so overly convinced of the power of your "brand name recognition" you squander the future for a not even actual profit on the "now.")
it's so sus that they have a repair service already up and running
and why are the joycons the same??

I wouldn't fault them for having repair services ready at launch, I'd fault them for using identical sticks

and yeah having a repair service ready day one is fine for like if someone gets their new thing and it broke in shipping or wherever, fine.....

...but having a repair service that specifically targets replacing the known to be bad parts they used before and refused to replace just banishes any possibility that they had maybe thought a fault on the supply side had been corrected

this sounds to me at least like nah they knew they were reusing known trash parts with full knowledge they were and still are trash parts while hiking up the price tag, but recognizing that they're selling trash they got ready to swap in some other trash parts for free to avoid getting in trouble

honestly I wonder if they overguessed Switch sales and ordered way too many crappy sticks and need to move that excess inventory

I'm still baffled about the joysticks... wouldn't it solve their issues if they just used Hall Effect sensor versions? and be cheaper in the long term?
Exacerangutan

that's why I wonder if they just bought way too much shit joysticks

Just a matter of 1) lack of innovation 2) lack of responding to their OWN internal market data 3) WHO YOU KNOW -- they have literal contracts with the contractors (derp I should say that better but you get what I mean) and rather than force quality control updates they're more concerned with their relationships staying in good standing. That is the ONE thing

you can USUALLY count on corporations to not do I get it. Japanese. They'd rather apologize later than fix in advance and deal with the awkwardness of that discussion but come the fuck on. This is why there's a Japanese trope about HAVING an obnoxious American on staff. Becuase we will fucking scream and shout and kool-aid man through walls to get

It's not them as much as that ASPECT of humanity that is part of my core programming to fix and it pisses me off because I KNOW THEY KNOW BETTER
Seijin CC

They just choose NOT to be better because there is a constant "ehhh I guess brand recognition will carry us." ONLY SO FAR STUPIDS grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
