Made it to Legend for the first time

My god I almost fucked that last game though

I’m playing an Imbue Paladin deck, meaning that I’m using Imbue cards, which alter and modify the character’s Hero Power. In the case of Paladin, that means filling your deck with random Dragons that summon themselves when you draw them.

The basic idea is to get tons of free value, control the board, win the game. But an important part of winning the game is landing the Ursol + Renewing Flames combo.

Ursol is an 8-mana paladin legendary that, in addition to being a beefy presence on the board, also picks the highest cost spell in your hand, and casts it as an aura.

That means that for the next three times your turn ends, the spell gets cast for free.

Renewing Flames is a 7-mana Paladin spell. It targets the lowest health enemy for five damage, which also heals you for five. It does this twice.

So if you get Ursol to cast Renewing Flames for you that’s thirty damage and thirty healing over the course of three turns. And you still get to put a big body on the board.

It’s frankly a disgusting combo. Not unbeatable, but really strong.

At minimum it gives you free board control for three turns. At best, it’ll straight up murder your opponent.

So it’s my last game in Diamond, I know that if so wind I’m in Legend.

I’m up against an imbue priest and I’m kind of dominating.

I throw down Ursol expecting to win the game in the next couple turns

I fucking forgot to make sure I actually had Renewing Flames in my hand.

Because I was already far ahead I was able to pull it back and take the win

But goddamn that was close
