also seeing people's gigantic muse/character lists. it's amazing bc i can't fathom having the mental capacity for it, but i do kinda wanna try playing some other characters in panfandom too

i can mostly only focus on one, maybe two muses at a time too, the actual time factor not even considered!
So yeah, giant muse lists are also always like a "woah" moment for me

and the ships .. well, it depends. Cross canon, not so much, cause I guess that very much depends on the chemistry between the writers and how willing they are to do cross canon ships.
"official" or "in canon" ships however, I do write with several people, of course also only when it clicks.

I’m always surprised by how many muses people have at one time. I have played more than one at a time, but I maxed out at 3 and I was in one slow game. Even still one character ruled an the others were around.

It’s even worse over on IJ. I swear every game is made up of 10 players and each one plays like 5-10 characters each. I do not understand

EnigmaIntheDust: yeah! i understand that most people aren't ACTIVELY playing EVERYONE on their lists at any given moment, though. and that a lot of us have been rping for years, so it adds up!

EnigmaIntheDust: and that's interesting about the ships. i used to think people were wasting my time if they pursued a ship with me AND also had it with other people, because it always ended up with one line getting less attention than the other. but people seem less flaky in dwrp, and ig it's different in a panfandom space...

prettyapathetic: i used to be able to play 5 active characters at a time, but that was... a long time ago 🤣 IJ is a whole other beast, i couldn't feel comfy over there...

narratives: I think it also depends. in dw rp, replies soften take a while and threads get dropped a lot, so "getting your ship where you can" sounds legit to me.
I also used to think that you "should" only write your ship with one person, but grew out of it, given dw rp.
1:1 RP PSLs might be another thing, cause you can focus a lot more on each other?

EnigmaIntheDust: i get that! i’m also not used to people using the same journal for multiple games & psls, so there’s just lots of different ways to go about this 😂 it’s interesting

narratives: yeah fair, i mostly did 1:1 before this, so I totally get it xD

narratives: I hear that a lot from both sides. IJ and DW are quite different in style and most seem to think they could never try the other.

I get that. The games are generally better on DW. But for some reason a lot of IJ people are scared of DW. Except my one friend who does some bakerstreet stuff occasionally, but never comes over fully because of the limits on icons 😂

They do not! I have a few Loki ones on my IJ for him that I miss dearly.
