I’m doing all of those to say...I am going to try and convince y’all to take up characters from Agents of SHIELD (those of you who don’t already have some, that is) because that’s how I roll.

TikTok · Sam I Amstarting off with some out of context TikTok since I’m doing my scroll of the evening.

This is what happens when I need to send TikToks to resjudicata so we can keep our streak going AND make our streak pet keep growing
ANYWAY. In a nutshell, it changes genres kind of fluidly throughout its whole 7 season, 136 episode run. The first season happens some time after the first Avengers movie so the Battle of New York happened, Coulson dies and the show is hey, Coulson is back. He now has a team and they go deal with the shit they wouldn't otherwise call in the Avengers for.
It's extremely episodic in the beginning...until episode 17 of the first season, which happens to coincide with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. That is a HUGE game changer for the show. Where it's kind of a procedural in the way that it handles cases each week as far as Marvel bullshit goes, that movie kicks it into high gear with well

most of you have all seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so - Hydra being within SHIELD pretty much since its inception. This carries the rest of that season out.
The second season has the spy stuff, them trying to rebuild SHIELD while in the shadows, but this also is the introduction of the Inhumans. No, not the ones from that show (Black Bolt, Medusa, etc), it has nothing to do with them aside from the fact that they're called Inhumans. This is basically the answer to mutants because of Fox, lol.
The third season continues the Inhuman story along with trying to establish Daisy's Secret Warriors team from the comics (sadly, it doesn't last long). Between trying to establish a team there's also another Inhuman out there hunting Inhumans down, along with a new government agency taking them into custody (are they good? are they bad? -
tune in to find out!). This is also where travel to other planets/dimensions start AND we get some kind of ancient alien god thing happen. Along with some mild space stuff.
The fourth season is when we start to get blocks for each season. This is also where we start to mess around some with the mystical side of Marvel. Ghost Rider is the first story block (the Darkhold makes an appearance!), then we start to touch on LMD (Life Model Decoys) in the second block and it all kind of rounds out in the middle/end there
by dealing with a virtual world called the Framework.
Okay, now we're getting into the territory of stuff I know about but haven't watched AS many times as I've watched the first bits BUT, to summarize: The fifth season we have a jump in time to a destroyed Earth future in a sort of dystopian situation because the Kree use Inhumans as prize fighters for entertainment and money, people are kept as slaves
and looked down upon and uh, my girl might have destroyed the Earth (she earns the nickname Destroyer of Worlds at this point). They make it back to present time (basically right along the events leading up to Avengers: Infinity War) and they're trying to change that future they just came back from AND deal with Hydra, et al
The sixth season is where they have pretty much stopped referencing the movies at all and they go to space, they have hijinks there and then they have to deal with a doppleganger of someone, some alien parasite threat more or less and also some kind of ancient entity who basically wants to take over the world for her own making.
The seventh season THIS IS THE TIME TRAVEL SEASON. There's some asshole robots they're trying to stop and basically to save themselves and save SHIELD they have to jump around through the timeline trying to prevent or change events, so that they ALSO can make it back to the CORRECT timeline. There's a time loop episode! It's great.
Their method for time travel and the talk of branched timelines, from what I remember, is on par with the movies side of Marvel so even if Marvel never told them shit, they did good work!
Yeah, I'm just gonna start linking fan videos in a minute because I'm getting all up in my feels now
Damn, these might all end up being from the same vidder too since I know most of these are coming from my likes
Okay, I've linked this when I realized the similarities between Buffy and Daisy (A Type, I have one? Who Knew?) but...it kind of shows how IMPORTANT the Daisy and Coulson's father/daughter type relationship is, comparing it like this to Buffy and Giles:The Closest Thing I Have To A Daughter. [5K]
This is also my reminder that when I make my "rp wishlist" Plurk later on...BtVS AU for Daisy is going close to the top of it!
Melinda May & Daisy Johnson | Control.- I'll let this comment summarize what's so great about May and Daisy's mother/daughter type relationship: "It's rare to get a maternal figure that is stoic and tough-love, without foregoing the importance of emotion and compassion." AND I LOVE THEM FOR IT
Weirdly enough I wasn't actually late to the RP game with Daisy, I played her over on IJ but didn't do games, just PSLs so I didn't run around with a bunch of cast mates and I kind of fell away from the show and RP around the same time, but I would say this next one is high up on my wishlist
Alphonso Mackenzie aka Mack, the man who's at one point Daisy's partner at SHIELD and later on becomes Director of SHIELD after Coulson, Jeffrey Mace (aka Patriot) and very briefly, Daisy herself. While her superhero name is officially "Quake", Mack calls her "Tremors" (see name display) and I love it 3000.Mack & Daisy | Partners.
Jemma Simmons is right beneath that, as one of her closest friends (they spend like, a year in space looking for a cryofrozen Fitz, so there's not a lot she wouldn't do for Simmons), someone she calls a sister in the narrative and keeps regular contact with even after the team is no longer working together.Daisy & Jemma | Sister.
I'm done being serious and just gonna link this, it's an out of context compilation video of Daisy and Simmons high thanks to space LSD:jemma and daisy tripping balls
fun fact, I played Simmons for a hot second
but I tragically fell off the show after season.... 2? I think? and just never got back into it /o\

I really should try rewatching this...
inkcharm listen if you were ever feeling like shenanigans with a foggy memory of canon....but no seriously, I fell off on it idk, just after season 3 and sort of peripherally kept up with it (mostly in season 4 since I still wanted to know what was going on even if I wasn’t watching 🤣) and only went back to it in early 2021
And now I am very slowly getting my husband to watch it with me since lmfao we are barely through a third of the third season and I’m like omggg let’s hurry up I wanna get to Ghost Rider
werepuppy DO IT. I fell off on it for a little while (it was my whole personality for the first idk, 3 seasons more or less until I slowly backed away after the third) and then I got heavily back into it after it had ended because I guess I love the unloved step children of the MCU lmao

I will try. I was following along in S1 but can't remember why I stopped...
werepuppy lmao honestly that sounds like one of the common things people will say when it comes to how far they got if they’re not part of the fan base and all that 🤣

Lol I will try watching again
Season 1 is by far the lightest of the seasons, even if there’s humor and humorous moments throughout the show. That’s the one where everyone has the least amount of trauma compared to the rest
And as I say that, I’m all huh I feel like that can be said about Buffy the Vampire Slayer too, lmfao. Like season one might be one that people are “meh” about but when you compare the stuff in that to seasons 2-7 it’s SO LIGHT AND FUN by comparison haha

It always is, Let's be fair. Wait, am I misremembering or does Ghost Rider show up at one point?
werepuppy yes! He shows up in season 4! He is sadly ONLY in that season and I am forever upset that they never actually did the show I think I remember they were gonna do for him since he fucking DESERVED IT, damn it
