For those who don't know - the Variety Bash is you do fundraising for a year and then drive a really old car decked out in a theme. Our car's theme is Toy Story

Over 8 days we go on a long road trip to hand out funds to rural communities and kids in need. This can range from simple money donations to schools or I heard one year they got every kid in town new bikes

But you're suppose to dress up in themed costumes to go along with your car.

For months I've been telling the teammate I don't like how the two costumes I'm going to prepare are the green alien and a Potato Head. I even told him during our quiz night that I'm making my own pants because I couldn't find any in the right shade of blue

Today as he was handing me more work to do and follow up for the event he went: so, I was thinking with our costumes that we all do the green alien as no one has gone as the alien before.

I mentioned how that would be easy for me as I was already planning that as a main costume and he was just all: Oh. I assumed you were going as bopeep. Despite me never saying that in the slightest.

I was just so annoyed. I probably would have really liked the idea of a car full of aliens - it's a fun idea

But it just reminded me how little my opinion matters to this guy. Every single meeting he's asked what people are doing for costumes. Every single meeting I've said green alien and potato head.

He clearly just doesn't care about me enough to remember.

Yet, I can tell you all the costume ideas everyone else is doing.

I also told him how I was happy I found camouflage print pants for our army man day because I had been so worried about finding good pants. (I said good, but what I meant was: pants that would fit a plus sized body)

He then went on about his own costume for our army man day and then asked me if I found green pants yet

this was less than 5 minutes since I mentioned finding camo pants. So I said that again

and he went: No, camo is no good. We should all wear green.

And I basically said: Well, that's too bad. I have camo and that's what I'm wearing now because we didn't say it had to be green - it just had to be "army" inspired when we first talked about it.

I really don't like this man

I wish he was replaced with someone who would at least listen to me, but this guy doesn't listen and leaves me with all the work

and I can't even go: oh well, if he doesn't do his part then his part doesn't get done because that just hurts the kids the charity is helping out and it makes me feel guilty. So I end up doing his share of the work too. >.<

I don't think I'll do this again if he's involved again next year

Also, I am sure he still isn't aware that I'm not getting green pants. I think he's completely forgotten that.

I'm sorry ZZ. People suck so much

I would almost like it more if he was just a background guy getting a free ride on the charity work I'm doing. I would be pretty annoyed that he was getting back pats for my work, but at least it wouldn't feel like he was constantly tripping me up either

Last weekend was the FIRST Bash event that I didn't partake in and let him go to by himself. We were to take our car to a local mechanic to have it checked to confirm its road ready for the trip in August. Gives us a month to fix any issues that might come up

He volunteered and as this is the first thing he put his hand up for (because it involved just driving the car and he likes to do that) I said sure.

I did offer if he'd like company as I would go. He said 'Nah' as it's just taking the car to a spot and then leaving.

Later that day I got texts from other people asking why wasn't I there? Didn't I want to be involved? How could we leave him to do it on his own?

Fuck off. He's a big boy. And I doubt anyone has said anything to him about why he doesn't help with all the fund raising events I've been planning, organising, and running

Or the fund tracking and letter writing to ask for sponsors. Or the random times I've taken the car out for practice driving and exposure
