Today we literature as much as I can withstand
First half of the week is Emerson and Thoreau
Second half of the week is Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson
At least the reading won't be boring, if still intense
There's another essay due and discussion board
And then 2 video lectures
Math...... I'll deal with that tomorrow
I wanna try to get everything done by Thursday again. Especially since Alex is visiting over the weekend and Munchkin might be here as well because thus begins Birthday Month lol
Jenna's is today, already sent her birthday wishes. Munchkin's is Sunday while she's potentially visiting..... and the saga continues! So gotta get all of this done for festivities
Finished a Video lecture, read Emerson. Gonna start Thoreau after dinner.
Emerson took.... time. I knew he would. I had to read through it twice to actually grasp the point he was trying to make
He makes my own ramblings sound cohesive. What a wild dude
Finished Thoreau, I still have the essay to do but I need a break. There's a side reading needed for the essay and I can't brain more of this self-reliance, simple is good nonsense lol
HONESTLY not nonsense but god I feel like both works could have been.....
Essay done
Okay math day was not as productive as I wanted. I got 2 out of the 3 assignments done
and a test, I also took a test
The plan for today is do lit until I can't stand it anymore, then the last math assignment, then back to lit
Lit starts off strong with a ...... 45 min video lecture
Bet'cha 10 bucks it could've been 10 min if the prof didn't veer off and around topics
mmm it's gonna be a long dya
Ya...... that did not need to be 45 min
I did it, but my brain is mush so now we rest
It's not helping me right now lol
Still on my to do: Math lecture, math homework. Read Whitman's Leaves of Grass, read Dickinson's ........ idk all of it I guess.
Today was a flop and I'm frustrated
I finished Whitman. Gonna try to finish Dickinson tonight
Which will leave the math lesson and homework plus lit discussion for tomorrow
The issue with the lit discussion is ......... we have to write poetry
I don't care or mind that. It's usually easy to just rhyme things, even though English is awful at it
But we're supposed to do it like Whitman or Dickinson and that's where I'm like......
lol oh well. Fake it til you make it
From reading Whitman all I gathered is that he never uses end rhymes, he uses alliteration a lot and he tends to use a lot of symmetry while the starts of each line often repeat the same word multiple times in a single quatrain
I'm probably wrong about something or missing something but .... I am too tired to care c:
well, even if you fuck it up, 50% is better than a 0
I've got like 1 more assignment minimum to do to finish my tech class, 2 if I want to be careful about the like 6 things she hasn't graded yet
Is it almost the end of your semester?
for my 4 week course, yeah, still 4 more weeks to go for the law course
Well, at least one will be out of the way
It's 4:30am but we have done all the math for the week
I just have the lit discussion left to do but I'm taking tomorrow off and handling it on Friday. I need a break
I am torn between doing the discussion poem with Whitman or Dickinson's style because I understand neither of them. The point of their style, I'd argue, is the individuality of them. So copying is anti-transcendentalist by nature because the whole point of it is individuality
Will my professor indulge my semantics? I mean
We're supposed to write the poem and then a 200 word explanation of our thoughts behind the poem
I'll probably toss in the anti-transcendentalism nonsense then, see what happens
I only just managed to finish the discussion board assignment rip
Half of the assignment was to reply to a classmate's poem
LITERALLY 25 people in this class. I was the only one to have posted until today. And even now there are only 4 posts and it's due at midnight
Holiday weekends, man. Nothing is getting done. I hope for all of my classmates' sake the prof extends the deadline
this is why I hate discussion post assignments
