I got into the habit of having energy drinks in the morning instead of tea (especially with this summer weather) but it's been really making me drowsy on the weekends when I go back to tea...

so I started cutting back to one scoop instead of two on my workdays and so far so good, I'm not as wired but I'm still alert enough

I've been training a newbie for a whole week and I'm not done with her yet...... she's nice enough but it's also a full 8 hours of her shadowing me

I had a reprieve yesterday and was actually able to relax, but now I'm back at it.... lowkey worried I'll be stuck with her until I'm put on another assignment

(when? no idea, just 'soon')

thank god it's a three-day weekend, I'm really not built for doing so much training

might've spoke too soon, I'm seriously yawning.... time for tea

ah it's shark week. no wonder I feel so tired

I also haven't done any cross stitch in a while..... I want to get back to it whenever I'm done training and have a little downtime at work again

I'm not actually sure they care about portable washing machines, I've seen someone in an adjacent building with a broken one right out on their balcony, but better safe than sorry

I especially like that birdcage one..... I'm already really fond of the little 3D houses, I'd really like to make a halloween village out of cross stitch one day

though my current kit is a 3D winter lantern using plastic canvas instead

apartment inspection already over! like 4 people came by but it was extremely brief... I'm still glad I hid away my cardboard boxes and shit though

and I got complemented on having a cute setup in my apartment lol

I'm kinda snoozy tonight so I'm not getting much done... I'm at least going to reply to my oldest couple of tags but all I've been doing otherwise is watching videos and trying to take catnaps

omg Simba's been wanting cuddles and pets a lot today... but then he turns right around and starts trying to chew on my pens!! he just can't help being naughty

oof.. hands hurty...... cross stitching on anything but fabric really makes my fingers ache. I need to start wearing a glove again or find some other solution

even plastic canvas can be kinda hard on my hands if I do it for too long

I'm very glad the heat is breaking, the last couple of days have been 100 or higher and it's been kinda brutal... and yes that does say it's going to be 81 F at midnight

ah. my parcel locker key got stuck and the post office isn't answering the phone. lovely

I might wait until monday to see if they leave me another key after they retrieve the ones that got stuck but idk what else to do and the internet is failing me here

oh yeah I did go to the post office on Saturday and tell them what was going on, so hopefully today after work I can get my package...

it's a good thing I went to sleep early last night, the new system we have at work for submitting completed forms sucks ass

of course nothing this company makes has the Forms dept in mind so it was made for ROI/pre-auth people and doesn't have some of the functionality we need in it... plus it's also more complicated....

the old submission system did need an upgrade but christ, until they fix something we need I'm behind on submissions and my stats are going to look like shit!!

and I was also just busy all morning moving pending entries from the old system to the new one

desperately hoping I can chill more while doing my afternoon clinic

yaaay the mailman brought me my package directly.... I had to explain that I got the key stuck in the wrong package box I'm sure he was kinda annoyed at me but in my defense the larger parcel boxes aren't marked clearly

but now I have my new office chair mat finally

also Chewy keeps consistently sending my online orders within 2 days just for regular shipping, they must have a warehouse very close by?? either way hell yeah

today I ordered a mattress topper and TWO of those automatically adjusting foot rests, so I can have one for each computer I use.... it's be kind to my body day (or will be in a week once I get it all)

I decided to treat myself and buy a real sports bra.... and the package was apparently delivered to the wrong house

I submitted a claim with the post office so we'll see if they either find it or pay me back.... sports bras are NOT cheap so they'd better pony up something if they really did lose it

it's been a weirdly nice Monday otherwise, everything's going great except for my goddamn package going missing

this happened only once before when I first moved in and Fedex delivered my gaming chair like... to the school across the street or some shit, it took forever to get a replacement because the company that sold the chairs had to submit a claim to Fedex and then wait until they had more inventory to get me a new one

but this was multiple Amazon orders from multiple sellers so I can't even contact anyone on Amazon about it, this is the post office's fuck-up

mattress topper comes tomorrow at least, I'm really hoping it helps jazz up my cheap mattress

lmao christ the post office decided that my package was stolen. they're not going to refund me the money, which means there's two things I have to do: both report it stolen to Amazon and also report it to my apartment building to see if they caught it on camera at all

I have a fucking feeling though that the post office just delivered it to the wrong house and they're shrugging their shoulders now

google is telling me that Amazon will issue refunds at least. perhaps I will just do that instead of bugging my apartment office about it. the thing is that I have never had anything stolen before

and I was only approx an hour and a half between when it was supposed to be delivered and when I saw it hadn't been, I was in my living room the whole time and never heard a knock on the door or anything

ofc I'm usually faster at answering the door but again, there wasn't a knock. not that every delivery person knocks, even today the Fedex guy just dropped my shit and left :/

okay, contacted my apartment building about it, I'll bug Amazon's customer service once I'm not multitasking on 3 things at once

apartment office told me 'our cameras don't look directly at your door so we have no idea' of course....

Amazon's customer service bot at least refunded me like right away, so that was nice

I slept really good last night with the new mattress topper... thank god, because this morning at work has been a whole lot and it's not even noon yet

sure do love when a clinic sends me a ton of work at once and then starts asking for it to be done asap.... like you don't even send me authorizations, wtf do you want from me

a new mattress topper makes such a huge difference... i got a new one recently and it helps so much

not quite! I do medical records work but my current job is mostly all completing FMLA/disability forms for a handful of clinics

goodness gracious for real, how are you supposed to get that done when they're not even giving you what you need

this clinic has been a problem like that for... a while, they want everything done within 3 days but never give me what I need to actually do it that fast lmao

and they also act passive-aggressive and immediately e-mail us with accusations when something goes wrong, instead of checking into it themselves first (most of the time they're mistaken)

it's amazing that my supervisors still put up with them

hhhgh it's only Wednesday and it's already been a hell of a week... after work I'm going to get fast food and then desperately try to relax
