They are very smol, look like raspberries and are pretty tart
There's a hiking trail up the neighboring mountain and it has some wild berries and fruits if you know what to look for
These are wineberries
Later in the season that same trail has a lot of Paw Paw trees
So I'm sure she'll grab us some paw paws when they come around
For the record, this neighbor is .......... as close to a real life druid as you can get lmao
She's 76, and hikes every single day
I've bumped into her while she's returning from a hike and she'll have an arm full of mushrooms or foraged things she's bringing home to cook
I went on a hike with her once and half way through the hike she grabbed a cicada and was like Oh, my chicken will love this little guy (to eat)
She is............. quite the character
She's the last original homeowner when this neighborhood was a commune. She helped build all the houses here back in the 70s
Our house is not the original one built, the original owner passed, it fell into disrepair before a neighbor purchased the property and rebuilt it to sell
Whether it's just neighbor things or maybe because she helped build all of the original houses here, she has a lot of opinions about what neighbors do to their property
She was ready to protest when my dad cleared the trees off the property
He did down 75 trees. We were very displeased with him
That said the property still has at least 50 trees we didn't touch
We live in a forest on a mountain lol
On the bright side.............?
Firewood for the next 50 years..?
Hardly a bright side but the trees are long gone so here we are
Decided to go on a walk since it's cooled off now but not dark enough for the bears yet
Our summer wildflowers are really colorful
The first two pictures are form the front yard
Second two pictures are the neighbor's pasture across the street
The one whose bull keeps getting loose once a month lol
