Someone has to have already realized these four aren’t worth as many points as the A-rank captains despite their greater experience, of course...
So something that's very funny that was pointed out about this setup
Let's roll back a little for some context
This is an exam to decide which B-rank agents are going to get to join the A-rank agents on the upcoming Away Mission. The normal B-rank squads have been broken up and reassembled into provisional squads, with their captains chosen by the Border administrators.
Each provisional squad has been stuck in a confined space, basically doing homework and competing in video game-style simulated combat. They get awarded points based on how well they do on the homework and the League of Legends
But what's less obvious is that all the A-rank agents are watching them the whole time, and awarding and penalizing them based on whether they like what they see.
The rules for the second half of the test were just revealed to both the provisional squads and the A-Rank squads. It's all the A-Rank squads versus all the Provisional Squads in a big battle, lasting upwards of 36 hours. They are competing for points - the first side that racks up 5000 points wins.
You can get points by taking out agents on the opposing side, as well as destroying the other team's respawn terminals.
When an A-rank agent is taken down, the Provisional team are awarded a standardized amount of points depending on the agent's role - more for Captains and Operators. But there's a funny twist when it comes to how points are awarded for taking down Provisional agents.
Provisional agents are worth the number of points that the A-rank monitors awarded them in the first phase.
If the A-rank agents liked someone's performance in phase one, they might be worth up to 150 points. If they didn't come across well, they might be worth much, much less.
Okay, context established. Here comes the funny thing.
She sucks a lot. I love her.
The main thing that she sucks at is her attitude. It sucks. Her mentality is straight garbage, it's the main thing holding her back.
And unsurprisingly, this means that she has been dinged VERY heavily by the A-rank judges.
She was awarded far and away the lowest number of points, a measly 13.
...but here's the thing. Katori sucks...as a teammate. She brings an extremely toxic vibe to the team dynamic.
But as a fighter? She's actually very good.
Not tip-top tier, but she can play up there.
So the A-rank judges have created a situation for themselves where Katori is running around, being a huge pain in the ass to actually take out
...and is worth almost no points when you do.
even if they were using the provisional squads captain’s evaluation points, which that would still be true, but that would also just be. hilariously lopsided in a different way
since Mikumo has low combat ability on his own but has an incredible mind
oh whoops. I forgot to type in half a sentence up there. I initially read the point distribution as “provisional squad captains decide, without having known”
Osamu would be worth almost as much as a terminal
