https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/712N7RdrlTL._UF894,1000_QL80_.jpg I just got back from seeing Superman - it was a lot of fun, and the main trio (David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult) did an amazing job. (there might be spoilers in the comments)

There's a big change that might be controversial, and I feel like Boravia is going to be seen as a stand-in for Israel even if it was intended to be a stand-in for any unjust aggressor in an international conflict.

The romance between Lois and Clark might not have been the main focus, but I liked how it was written, and the two of them had some great chemistry. I have no complaints about how Clark was written.

Also, the giant purple blob thing from the previews was handled COMPLETELY differently from how I was expecting it to be handled.

Lex was well-written - I could hear Clancy Brown saying many of the same lines, which feels like the mark of a good Lex.

(Hoult's voice is higher-pitched, but the dialogue and the emotion were definitely there)

Nathan Fillion was pitch-perfect as Guy Gardner.

The two post-credits scenes didn't do much, though the first one was touching.

I'm a LITTLE disappointed that the kaiju from the trailers didn't turn out to be Jimmy Olsen, but Jimmy was more prominent here than I'm used to for Superman movies, and I'd love to see a spin-off for Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen. (ideally one that it's based on the Matt Fraction run, though I'd love it if they could make Darkseid have his DCU debut there)
