okay, so... I've been trying different body washes, attempting to find a nice one with a scent that works well with my deodorant instead of
clashing with it. and then I realized, I could
also potentially use different deodorants, too.
but
either way, the question is,
which ones to try.
I like the cold soapy scents most; I'd much rather smell like I just took a shower than not, you know?
but this also means I tend to ignore the meant-for-ladies section altogether, lmfao
bonus points if it's a big, well-known, not-hugely-expensive brand, and am likely to find it where I live here in the US at like, WalMart or maybe Fred Meyers or something?
but ones I find I like so far... Degree Cool Rush deodorant... body washes like Nivea For Men Menthol & Yuzu... uh... Axe Apollo isn't bad! Old Spice Pure Sport and Irish Spring Moisture Blast....
I'd spend longer in the store trying to sniff at caps and stuff, but after a while, it all kinda blends together. or gives me a headache, lol.
Unfortunately I only use antiperspirant and my choice is totally dependent on affordability + sufficient ability to curb my sweat glands, but with that in mind I use Dove's advanced care 48h. I can't remember any being particularly soapy but they're pretty mild and unoffending, especially the cool essentials and little black dress ones.
ooh, scentless and mild is good too!
this is mostly just me sighing that some scents do clash even when they smell nice by themselves, and also starting to realize that nose-blindness is indeed A Thing after a while, and... I might as well have more than one option, besides?
eelteeth: I think I've seen that.... huh. I might just!
Deodorant salt stones just neutralize body odor, rather than masking it with fragrance. It’s hypoallergenic, effective, and lasts half of forever. And no need to worry about suspicious ingredients cuz it’s literally just a hunk of salt lol
My friend is a sweaty person who also gets anxiety sweats, which has a way stronger odor, but she’s also allergic to most traditional deodorants on the market, but this was like a miracle for her. She said she wants to hand them out on the streets and solve the public problem of BO altogether rofl...😂
You just get it a lil wet first and it can go anywhere!
seems to me it'd also have the bonus of then not clashing with other things, lol
And fwiw that website also has fantastic body care, just a lil bit more than you’d spend at Walmart or so, but for all handmade botanical products designed for sensitive skin and supporting a relatively small family business. They ship all over the US. Amazing quality without breaking the bank. Makes a HUGE difference if you’ve not tried natural soap before!
I'd also wonder if anyone knows of some unscented body washes.... or maybe the ones that're just like. idk, rain scented or something? that'd be cool too... but it seems like a lot of them in the women's section are chemical-fruit-scented, chemical-flower-scented, or smell like baby powder... or in the men's section, various wood scents or soaps. :/
....oh, or I guess I could also just mix the hand soap refill jug's contents with water in a foamer bottle, and use that, huh. XD I may be overthinking this....
So I like antiperspirants over just deodorants and most scents give me rashes over time. (Also every time I find one that works and doesn't it's discontinued after 1-2 times) recently I gave up and decide to try the 'unscented' clinical strength ones. The one I got was Secret because it was like a buck cheaper than the men oriented brand and it works well

it wasn't cheap but I only have to use it before bed every other day or every three days when it's cooler. And the scent is pretty unobtrusive. I have one of alum crystal style ones too that someone linked above to use when my skin is really acting up, But it does nothing to stop sweat, so it's not my go to.
As far as unscented/mild soap at the store, there’s always Dr Bronners Castile soap. Though they do have some more scented varieties too.
ah... I don't have any particular sensitivities that I know of, when it comes to soaps, at least.
