So Alex visited last week right
So she's home now, just tested positive for covid
Katie was sick over the weekend (Alex went home Thursday)
And that sick caused a pain spike
Katie went to the ER last night and the hospital is keeping her overnight tonight
SHE'S FINE? They're trying to manage her pain spike
We asked the hospital to give her a covid test, just in case but
Katie's birthday is tomorrow
So she's probably getting home and just gonna be stuck in bed all day
But just an ass situation
I guess I'll just update here with how things go. We're hoping Katie tests negative, she's already over the worst of it
Scott's planning to visit her in the hospital but we're telling him not to until the covid test results come back
Yeah.. I'm pretty worried about her mental state :c
It's just a lot of bad back to back
I went on a walk earlier this evening and bumped into the neighbor who might be a druid in disguise
She offered to bring over something tomorrow for Katie's birthday, or whenever she gets home from the hospital
Katie made her a key lime pie for her own birthday so I think she feels compelled to return the favor
Katie will be really happy about that. So at least there is some good mixed in with all of this
She's in the hospital for at least another day
So she might be home tomorrow but my dad suspects she won't be
Katie sent me birthday wishes which was very sweet of her. She's still not coming home yet, maybe tomorrow she thinks
Ironically that means we can go out to dinner tonight, if she had come home we would've had to look after her
It's a mixed bag but hopefully she'll be feeling a bit better by the time they finally let her come home
Katie comes home tomorrow morning
Apparently covid isn't really contagious after 3 days so she's safe to come home without being a threat lol
Also she's feeling better to an extent that they're comfortable letting her come home now, so all of these things are good things
Katie's home
We might do a birthday thing for her this weekend, it depends how she's feeling but it'd be nice if we got to
Spending any birthday in the hospital sucks :c
i'm glad she's feeling better, and it's good to know covid doesn't spread after the third day or so
Ya we know a lot more about it by now I guess
Stares at China's months long quarantines back in 2022
Covid stops spreading after 3 days?
i guess the main danger is people spreading it before they even know they have it
which is, admittedly, a serious problem
Ya it's not contagious after 3 days
You can still test positive but you are not contagious
According to UVA and INOVA hospitals anyway
