Update - I got a fairly decent apology
They admitted they've been so swamped with the auditors that everyone kept thinking other people were actioning it despite my multiple reminders.
well at least they apologised 
I knew they were busy with the auditors - it's why I kept sending reminders. Only so much I can do
I also appreciated the fact that their apologies were basically: oh, we fucked up. We're sorry. Here's our reason. Doesn't make it better, but we're sorry
