CeejayWriter: Since I left FB I’m discovering a discouraging amount of local events and businesses are there exclusively. That said, I’ll look it up!

Fogwoman: It took me OVER A YEAR to connect with the local Feminist Bird Club because their primary whatever is FB as far as the web is concerned, but the Discord is lively as branchful of Manakins now that I found it.

Fogwoman: totally understand. I detest FB but needful info, and my family, is only there, damnit.

CeejayWriter: At this point I would not suggest ditching it. In our area marketplace is the primary place to buy and sell person to person.
I got desperate enough to try making a business page under Fogwoman, but got creeped out when they demanded a facial scan.

Fogwoman: I can't ditch it, alas. Personally, I don't need to use Marketplace, BUT there are two social circles I can't replicate anywhere else (yet). My family, and my author-tribe. though the authors seem to be slowly but surely moving to BlueSky.

Yeah, most of the folks I’m missing on Bluesky are artists. I’m seeing more, and a lot of them are on instagram which I still have.

I don't Insta, and have less than zero desire to do so. the only social media I actually enjoy is BlueSky and Plurk.

My most frequent use of insta is hunting tattoo artists.
