yes he's a silent protagonist in a game where he speaks to no other characters

but like. as I have spent 40+ hours playing this game, I have thought a LOT about... what kind of kid grows up in a family like this?

why is everyone okay plunking this 14 year old on his own, & what does his silent dedication to this puzzle say about him?
