A lot of people fell off during the arc in chapter 5 because it was an overly long sports thing and they later switched to a mix of comic and prose for wrist health reasons which is perfectly reasonable, it helps the story move faster too, but oh my God they are awful at it

... I realized what Zack's writing kind of reminds me of and its So Mean to say but it makes me think of that irony poisoned homestuck-aping style that all long tumblr posts had in like 2015

They have almost entirely abandoned the main cast to follow their New Favorite Characters, Special Edgy Vampire Boy (who accomplishes nothing in like 30 pages almost on purpose) and they will. not. stop. introducing quirky side characters

They have made a deeply irritating habit lately of also like... just reducing their characters to nothing lately. Mass flanderization of either introducing an interesting character and either reducing them to nothing or ignoring them (Ed is an EGREGIOUS example, but also like... Mina, Penny, Forge, Max, Johnny, this comic has too many characters)

in favor of either spending a ton of time on extremely annoying characters like Isaac and Cody who are both 13 year old edgelords, or introducing 400 hamfisted subverted stereotype joke characters a minute

There are Other issues with like. clearly being afraid of people guessing twists and trying to shift those around or taking ideas from the fandom and making them canon but I think I am just done the most recent page sucked that bad
