I want to watch the new one (Fantastic Four: First Steps) with my brother, and as he's sick, that won't be until next weekend.
I haven't seen this one; I know it never got released, and I think Roger Corman's movies are low budget, though I don't know if it's good or bad. (from clips that I've seen, it seems like the most comic-accurate cinematic Doctor Doom, but the bar for that is incredibly low)
I might watch it later; I feel like it will be more fun to watch it with my brother during a video call rather than each of us watching it separately, though when I do watch it, I'll post my thoughts here. (still, I'm glad the whole thing is available on Youtube)
Kind of creeped out that they went with the John Byrne era plot point of Sue being a young girl (a pre-teen or a young teenager) when she met Reed and he was in college.
I liked the music in the opening credits, but it seems very melodramatic when it's a scene of Reed and Victor in a lab.
I don't know if the guy coming out of the sewer is meant to be Mole Man or not. (He looks like a mix of Mole Man and Danny DeVito's Penguin)
Seeing Doom laughing maniacally in his massive throne room has me thinking that this is already the most comic-accurate Doctor Doom in a movie.
Not the best special effects when it comes to Reed's stretching.
Ironically, Ben is the only one who seems fine/unchanged.
The dramatic cape swish as Doom leaves the room is perfect.
It takes me out of the movie a bit when my niece watches Ms. Rachel videos and Alicia Masters is dressed exactly like her.
The actor playing the general seems really immature/young for the role.
The practical effects for the Thing's face are really good.
My brother and I were both reminded of David Cross (as Tobias from Arrested Development) when we saw Dr. Hauptmann.
The accent that one of Doom's minions uses makes me think of Count von Count.
They clearly don't have the budget for fight scenes haha
When Doom introduced himself to the team, I wouldn't understand what he was saying if I didn't have subtitles on.
As Doom was saying "keep your... cool", the actor put his hand on his head like he was thinking "I can't believe I'm saying this".
Sue just got two of Doom's henchmen to brutally murder each other.
Cracked up laughing when Doom came back into the room, ready to tell them a story, only for the Fantastic Four to have broken free while he was somehow none the wiser.
Reed really didn't have to insult Ben when he was describing how their personalities relate to their powers.
Everyone in this movie seems to pronounce diamond in a weird way (Die-A-Mond!), or maybe it's just the villains.
Ben turned back to a normal human rather abruptly once Alicia told him she loves him.
And then he turned back into the Thing just as randomly. (It seemed like an excuse to make it so Alicia could get kidnapped)
Doom's hand motions when making his video statement are great. (It's like he assumes that they're all deaf)
I can't believe that neither Reed or Ben asked what Victor's last name is.
Somehow, there's only 10-12 minutes left in this movie.
Doom dramatically declaring "you may call me... Doctor Doom!" settles it for me - this is the best cinematic Doom that I've seen. (I haven't seen Fantastic Four: First Steps yet, though I'm guessing Doom only appears in a post-credits scene if he even appears at all)
Reed can still move his leg, so what was the point of the trap?
Oh, Sue does have force fields - I thought they only had the budget to make her invisible.
Cracked up laughing when Johnny's plan to stop the laser was to fly in front of it and get hit by it repeatedly.
From the CGI, I can see why this wasn't released. (Though I have seen worse CGI)
Not the worst Fantastic Four movie I've seen, but I prefer the 2005 one. (though Jessica Alba's treatment in those movies was rough)
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
