I said something between a pixie cut and a bob cut. If they can give it a little layering, I would like that, but not necessary if they're uncomfortable doing that. So yes, I want it very short.
I want it gone so it's super easy to take care of while I'm off camping during the charity drive in 2 weeks
ugh it's incredibly annoying when they ask more than once
(I started going to an explicitly queer-friendly salon just so i definitely wouldn't get asked that question)
I go to a walk in as it's the only place that will give a hair cut for under $50
As I think my cut is semi simple as I don't want anything fancy. So I don't want to pay an arm and a leg
I mean, maybe going that short isn't easy.

I'm not hair dresser
I more mean I'm not asking for colour or volume or anything. Just a chop - make it even and I'm happy
Would post a picture as I am very happy with my cut. But now off to watch superman for a second time!
Oh yeah, I've gotten to the point where I just show them a man's photo and say "This. Give me this." Hair stylists not trusting you to want what you say is exhausting.
The most pushback I've gotten, tbf, was when I asked them to give me Quorra's asymmetrical bob from Tron: Legacy, and they looked so concerned because it was, you know, asymmetrical. But then when it was done, me and them and my mom and everyone were like "Oh no, it's cute!"
I think it's because I walk in with such long hair, but even when I say I'm hacking it to donate - so please don't toss it, give it to me - you'd think that would help them feel better about giving me short hair
But maybe they think I'll go into shock by such a large change
Maybe? There's also, of course, the big scary thing about afab people chopping all their hair off, as if we couldn't possibly want it that short. Mostly, my hair gets as long as it is now out of pure laziness.

The barbershop I like to go to is
so far away!
Nah, I didn't really get that vibe. It really felt more like a new-er stylish being nervous about an extreme cut being asked for
I mean, my gender could have had something to do with it, but it still feels more like they've had people be upset after seeing their hair so short afterwards
ahhh, yeah, that makes sense. Not wanting to risk a customer having second thoughts after getting such a severe change, if you're a new stylist, could be pretty intimidating, I'm sure.
I think most of the people at this place are usually newer stylists
That makes sense. Get started at a chain before branching out to a solo or indie salon, maybe?
yeah, that's sort of the sense of the place
