Trying to explain to a 60 year old man that: yes, kids find fidget toys fun. Yes, popping the bubbles back and forth is all it's supposed to do.

He kept going I don't understand how you play this game.

Despite me and one other person going: it's not a game. It's just a tactile thing.

We were gifted with a bag of them to give out to kids on the charity run we're doing in 2 weeks and he wanted to toss them because he didn't think kids would "get" how to play with them

Kids don't need to "get" a toy to have fun with it.

Me and other girl talked him into keeping them. I think the fact that she has a kid helped him believe us.

I think the main fad for them has mostly passed (and probably why someone donated a bunch to us) but kids will probably just be happy to have free stuff

Let's be real, he didn't want to toss them because kids wouldn't understand. HE doesn't understand them so he wanted to toss them. Anyone who has been around children in the last five years will see these all over their things, on phone cases, key chains or other things they keep on them. They're at every market or toy section. You can't miss them.

My husband has a saying about his family being like this: If it's different, I don't understand, and if I don't understand? It's bad.
