Because my solution was wiping them with a cloth misted with the strongest isopropyl alcohol you can get (90% or so) then closing them in an airtight container with an open dish of the same alcohol for a while

But that is insane for a hoarder and requires effort and you'll have bins with open alcohol everywhere

The baking soda should be fine

if it isn't then I will let her do whatever
