It's one of those times where I was like "is it actually good or was it just better in my memories because I was a kid then and it was a simpler time" and the answer is "oh it's actually really good" (lmao)

chaosghost: even those plain ones are also good! Dip them in the spiced vinegar of your choice and it's pretty good with rice! Or pwede mo ring papakin kung yun ang trip mo.

Like, just fry them to the desired level of doneness, serve with spiced vinegar.

Ditto with those dried squid thingys. They're sold as snacks fried with sugar and some spice mix, but like with the dilis, solb na rin sya as ulam!

I liked the dried squid thingies as a kid too, but I don't think I'll enjoy them as much now (LOL)

chaosghost: I have this hunch that those dilis and squid things are meant to be pulutan in the first place. The dried squid thing is really good with beer--not that I do that often (because I don't really drink).

madugongmaria: YESS!! (hungry) I remember when I was young, I just scoop some as my mom cooks them. Kahit na walang suka, basta yung bagong hango galing sa kawali.
