Don't ask me how I ended up down a rabbit hole on the SPCA website but we did anddddd might have sent an inquiry about one of their dogs
We have debated for EVER about getting a second dog so Brody has a buddy and isn't constantly surrounded by cats
And the consistent push back has been "ugh effort" but also we can't handle an energetic dog
Brody is thankfully mellow af and mostly just chills and eats and buries bones to forget about them
He's a dorky aloof chill guy
But the odds of getting another dog with those traits? Not impossible but challenging
So the debate has always ended in "nah, we can't handle it"
OKAY BUT WHAT IF..........................
I might've found one that works? She's supposed to be shy and sensitive, she's 8 months and she jussssssssssssssssssst

LOOK AT THIS FACE.
Anyway, this may go nowhere. This may go somewhere.
I have not informed my dad or Katie of my findings. Uhh this happened in a span of 20 min.
They are very much asleep
Idk but when ya know ya know
I am not a dog person and if I'm like I WANT TO HUG THAT DOG
We have a keeper. I am just saying.
omg what a lil cutie!!

fingers crossed that maybe you will get to hug him~
Katie is not sold on the idea, but her reasoning that she's giving is crap lol
"but we can't just get up and go somewhere"
She's literally going to NC next month and I'm at home pet sitting for two weeks
So it is possible, it just takes some mild coordination
So I think something else is amiss
i know Brody's an older dog so honestly getting a younger dog he can "teach" so to speak is honestly ideal
I really agree, and it'll be good for my dad as well
When Brody goes, my dad's going to have a really rough time.
And a younger dog might even help Brody and keep him stimulated, it might extend his life some
I see no downside beyond "another mouth to feed"
We have 2 acres, we live in a forest on a mountain. Everyone in the neighborhood has dogs lol
Perfect conditions for this sweet pupper
