Sterling’s dribbling pee-blood which seems like probably a UTI

I managed to get her an appointment today at least

I don’t recall that she’s ever had one, but she’s 21 and her kidneys are gradually failing so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised

the downside of having an ancient cat is that every vet visit is like “oh no will this be the one”

she did amazing at her last checkup recently and she’s eating and drinking so I hope it’s just a regular uti

Dixie had several before she went

Vet’s pretty confident we’re just looking at a UTI, she was trying very hard to get back in her carrier and he was like that’s pretty spry for kidney failure lmao

so we’ll start on antibiotics today and hope they do their thing

I’m a little on edge bc I’ve been finding her in weird places & positions this evening. it might just be that she’s uncomfortable

but when Dixie was really done I’d like, find her in the bathtub and in Callen’s room (before he was born, so it was empty of people)

we’ve done two doses of the antibiotics so far and I’m hoping she starts acting more like herself tomorrow

uncomfortable would make sense. wish you could reason with cats sometimes.

she does seem like she’s feeling better since we started the antibiotics, and I’m glad I pulled the trigger on them bc the urinalysis confirmed it’s a UTI

we’ll get her full bloodwork etc back probably Monday but at this rate I imagine it’s just going to say “four more years”
